Ottlight

So the Home Depot now carries these Ottlight t12 bulbs, some broad spectrum deal invented by some dude named John Ott (only reason i know that is because there are no tech specs on the carton, just the story of why they are so great) But supposedly great for plants, I was gonna use a pair for seed starting. Anyone use these?

I used it for the beginning of my grow and quickly realized I needed more light. I quickly returned it and got my 19.99 back. The ottlite sucks and is a ripoff. Not enough watts.

I grew a monster with 2 17w OttLite bulbs worked awsomely and are currently working awsomely for my new plants.

But what I really came here for was to find out if the 17w bulbs or the 20w bulbs are better? The 17w bulbs have the protective sheild which allows me to put them pretty close to the plant, were as the 20w bulbs dont.
