hey all im gonna be doing a few lowryder2 in pots in my back garden in may.this is my first grow.im hoping to save some cash to buy my gear for the indoor setup.i spend that much buying green that i struggle to save any money..having three kids n a wife dosent help the situation but they hav been around for so long now that ive grown to love them all lol.im hoping to yeild a good couple of months worth out of the lowryders( i know they aint big yeilders) so like i say i can save sum dolla.iv read up rather alot on the subject of growing in general and i have a pretty good grasp of things i reckon.i was hoping to hear off another backgarden grower so they could give me a few pointers that cannot be read in a book.im guna b using 10ltr/2 gln pots straight from seed.im hoping to sow 4 seeds in there on pot every month with the last harvest in september.im using normal compost with a few additions, perlite, sand etc.nutrients i think will be at a minimum with trial and error the name of the game.im guna protect my babies from my cats and kids by wrapping chicken wire or sumat similar around the pots.i will also be able to move them into the direct sunlight when needed throughout the day.im slightly concerned about pests.i know cloche fleece may be good protection but im not sure.if i yeild a q a plant then il be happy, i think from what i gather that is realistic.any help and advice from experienced outdoor growers(autoflowering plants tho) would be more than welcome.i will be keeping a grow diary for all to see how i do.cheeers poteds

well ihave not grown autos yet but ive been reading about them for awhile . your plan sounds good like you said watch out on the nutes ive read they can burn real easy. and im not positve on what you mean as in q im thinking your meaning qp (qaurter pound) i would say that a very high goal ive read these plant will only yeild between 15 and 28 grams some more some less but this is where ive been reading about them im sure u will find anything u want to know or if u cant im sure theres someone that can help you alot better than i can..https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/199319-autoflower-thread-resource-guide.html

If I was u id go with a newer strain like

auto ak47 yeild 20-50g / height 2ft / potency its said to be top dog of autos

Or get something smaller like

short stuff- yeild 14g / height 12in / potency ???

If ur worried about it being seen short stuff is perfect won't nobody notice a 1ft tomato plant...
U could mix them in and harvast 2-3times...u could germinate 2-4 a week then 60 days later u get 2-8oz depending on strain a week. ..

U should lok into sts /makes seexs feminine
Or breed them so u don't have to buy seeds anymore. .

Make a small 2ft plastic greenhouse for breeding

Pvc and painterz lastic is all u need good luck don't over feed
I've heard. That lowryder isn't very poten and motre exspensive to buy.

Not my personal exsprince but u can take into consideration

cheers goose, that link is helpful m8.when i say a q i mean a quarter of an ounce lol.so in other words 28grams off the plant wet and around 7 grams dryed and cured.im aiming low so as not to be too disapointed, but if im honest im not majorly bothered about the yeild.and yes i will be watching for nute burn etc.

hey dutch.yeh i hav heard of the lack of potency of lowryders but lowryder 2 is meant to be beta.the ak strain has caught my eye as hav others but im worried that they are not as forgiving or as hardy a strain as lowryder.im not overly concerned about the height its more the smell.ak47 stinks by all accounts.yes i have considered breeding due to the over inflated price o f auto seeds.. i think i probably will m8.is it nessasary to enclose the plants in the little greenhouse u mentioned? i was just guna get a male n female and seperate them from the others in different part/section of the garden and let them get it on? i suppose u cud be saying that if the male isnt enclosed he could pollinate all my fems? that makes sense.any enclosure that has reflective and protective properties would suffice i presume. and i know very little about turning regular seeds into fems...how effective is it? are all growers doin it? i think il consider another two strains to play with so i can hav a bit of variety and experience with different plants.thanks for the advice mate.

Could this help you out?

I used one before with great results. Kept the bugs away (still used neem oil) and I didn't have to move the damn pots at all. One of my first outdoor grows actually.

"having three kids n a wife dosent help the situation but they hav been around for so long now that ive grown to love them all"

damn that's funny.

hey there mate, yeh i had a little giggle myself when i wrote that shit, its derived from a movie quote but in true pothead fashion i dont recall the name of the damn movie.i do like those mini greenhouses alot but i fear that they stand out too much for my situation.basically ive got houses behind my house that can see a portion of my garden so keeping the plants individuly in pots is the most practical solution.to be really honest the whole idea of growing in the back garden isnt practical for me at all but its just to get me going b4 i go indoor.thanks for the suggestions
