Outdoor Lighting

I'm new to this site and to growing. This is my first plant and it's been pretty interesting. Without the $$ to build an indoor set-up, I am forced to grow outside on the balcony which isn't so bad. However, the problem is not enough direct sunlight during the day, maybe 5 hours if that, and not enough darkness at night. There's a light coming from the other side, but it's not shining directly on it.

I live in an apartment complex and the light at night is coming from the stairwell so that people can see when they walk up at night.

Anyway, she's still blooming, but I know it could have been a better yield and stronger as well.

Plant is about 3-4 weeks away from harvesting, but I want to get fuller buds. For the last couple of nights, I've been taking the plant inside around 8pm and keeping it in my closet for complete darkness until about 11am.

Questions I have:
1) Is this going to kill my plant?
2) Are there any suggestions on how to make it completely dark for the plant outdoors without bringing too much attention?

It's hidden enough from sight, but if I make something to cover the plant, it might catch someone's eye.

I guess another question would be. Since there's about 3-4 weeks left until harvest, would putting it in complete darkness for the last few weeks make a difference? Or should I just hope that the next one I grow has better living conditions??

Wow, i'm such an amateur. hahahaha

I'm new also, what I've heard is the last couple days it's o.k. to keep plant in complete darkness, don't water it etc..., as far as direct light goes it seems a lot of people are having that problem. I think five hours is pretty good compared to what I've heard from some people. I've also heard that even if it's not direct light it should still be O.k., so the combo you have for the 9 hours it's outside should be o.k.
