Outdoor plants dying and drying up - budrot?

Pictures attached - my outdoor are into about 3 months and some of the big buds are starting to dry up and turn brown and crumble apart. The leaves around them will die and then they will turn brown like they are decaying.

They have been given plenty of water, maybe too much if that is possible, but the buds are not wet in any way, it has not rained yet.

What could be causing this?

you definitely have a issue, i havent had this happen to me so i will keep an eye on your thread to see what someone with more knowledge says. wow that sucks though
