Outdoor plants growing slow and not maturing

My plants seem to be stuck in this slow growth phase and have only developed 3 bladed leaves like the are just large clones. I'm using AN summer blend and are growing in 2 cubic foot holes filled with my own mix based on spagum moss, perlite verculimite and a bit of compost.

They have been outside since June 1st and the tallest one is only 3 ft high. They get great sun and plenty of water. Iv'e had plants grow twice as big inside in the same amount of time. I am thinking they might not be getting enough nutes but, the three blade leaf thing is weird to me. The internodes are very close and they are all pushing out pre flowers like crazy. It's been 98 degrees here in the southeast for weeks and maybe that has sowed the growth but I just don't get the 3 bladed leaves. I just picked up some super thrive today so I will add that to my regular watering tomorrow.

Pic 3 is the best growing plant. It's a white widow. Pictures 4-6 are durban poison.
Any adviced would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Clementine and shizz. I do need to be more patient. I used a mix of lime and pot ash from my fire pit, probably used too much. I just moved and repotted 3 of the smaller plants into 15 gal smart pots and moved them to a more open area into the direct sunlight. I have other plants in smart pots and they have really taken off.

I have been using tap water for a while because we are not getting rain here in the Southeast The ph from our tap water super high around 8.0 so I took a 32 gal trash can to the site, filled it and adjusted the ph to 6.0. I used super thrive so I'm interested to see the results.

hmmmm i also used wood ash. gotta be careful with that. it can kill ur plants... cant wait to see how you do myself. seems like we have close to the same conditions. only thing i do is dig bigger deeper holes. i also add bonemeal

Yep, I'm thinking I used way to much pot ash. Funny, I just got some bloodmeal and bonemeal and used that also. I'll have to get a journal going next weekend. Next summer I will have 20-30 plants out and wait until they are at least 3 ft tall befoer I move them outside. My timing was way off this spring.
