Pandora's Box, Querkle, Dairy Queen in Super Soil

Hi All - the ladies are flowering nicely now at almost 4 weeks. The different phenos are really standing out now. Since it's only 5 degrees outside, it's too cold to pull the plants out of the warm flower room and into the cold shed for a photo shoot. So, we have bud shots instead of full plant shots

Querkle 2 - This girl is more sativa leaning than Q4. The smell is sort of a floral fuel - reminds me of the Durban Poison I grew the last few runs. Definitely digging the frost factor this early in.

Querkle 4 - This one is more compact/indica leaning. She's got a nice musty grape smell that is probably more in line with the "classic" Querkle pheno.

Pandora's Box - compared to the others, she's not so aromatic yet. Just a slight lemon fuel scent

Dairy Queen #1 - This girl has a strong cheese-funk smell to her. Kind of reminds me of Gorgonzola that is about to go bad. She's also full of frost.

Dairy Queen #2 - Another frost queen. Check out the trichomes on that big fan leaf. She's got a nice cherry overtone with a more subtle cheese undertone. I think she'll taste great out of a vape...

That's all we've got for today. I'm hoping for warmer weather so we can get the full photo shoot going.

Thanks guys. I am stoked on the trichome development this early on. If those fan leaves keep frosting up I'll have lots of bubble come April...

Last night I turned off the fan to get those bud shots I posted. Of course, I just remembered tonight that I didn't turn the fan back on. When I went out to the shed the lights were not on as they should have been. It seems that the room heated up past my upper temp range which triggered the auto shut down mechanism on the lights. Not sure what time that happened but it seems the girls got some extra dark hours last night.

I have no idea how the high heat episode relates to the fact that the heater didn't kick in, and maybe its just strange coincidence, but the room was down to 40 degrees tonight. I unplugged the heater, flipped the switch a few times and plugged it back in. Now it seems to be working. Let's hope it doesn't flake out again. It's only 7 degrees outside right now.

Oh the joys of playing Mother Nature... :wall:

Thanks Slabhead. I'm really getting excited about the DQs. I basically bought them on an impulse and had no real expectations. Now that they're showing their stuff I'm impressed.

I'm gonna have a hard time deciding what to keep back for next round...

Finally got out to the shed last night to do a proper photo shoot. When I pulled the ladies out of the grow room it was able to get a better look at the leaf color. Seems like they are fading a bit earlier than I would like. What do you guys think?

I've fed them Earth Juice (the whole lineup) twice since they went into flower. Once on 1/26 and once on 2/11. I gave them Sucanat two days ago. I think I'll give them another shot of EJ tomorrow night. I've got it bubbling now. I may give one more feeding in the next 4 - 5 days and then let them fade out until chop time. I'm open to suggestions on that idea...

Without further adieu, let's bring the girls out on the runway.

First up is Querkle 2 - just starting to show some purple on the edges of the leaves.

Thanks for the kind words HOC.

GA - does your DQ smell like rotten cheese? My wife and I like Gorgonzola on our spinach salads. My DQ1 smells like a lot like Gorgonzola that's been in the fridge too long. I hope the high is good because I'm not sure I can handle a smoked version of that smell. :-) The cherry/cheese smell of DQ 2 is awesome though. So far she's in the running for my keeper, assuming the buzz is to my liking.

I'm heading out of town tomorrow for 5 days so I thought I'd show the color coming on Querkle 2 before I go. Everybody's looking good in the shed. Of the two Querkles, #2 is showing the most color right now. These shots were taken in the room with the lights on so the yellowing you see is mostly due to the HPS.

I also fed the girls 2 tablespoons of Sucanat mixed with a gallon of water. Since we are getting close to week 8 and they still look pretty good, I've decided not to feed anymore EJ. We'll just let them fade out to the end.

Enjoy... :peace:
