Parts Per Million start to finish

Just wondering if anyone can give me a range of what the ppm's should be through the stages of growing. Please only answer if you know. I am using R/O water with General Hydroponics flora series nutes. Lookin for a ball park. Thanks!

Keep it green!

Cant be answered ur grow is diff from the next. Sounds like you need more reading time and studying abd then you can keep it green

Ro and flora. Get some calmag.

The bottle mix ratio isn't that great so tweak it.

Work in milliliters.

What system / medium?

Right now its a baby. Feed very light like 250ppm.

Once its a little bigger you can ease that up.

I tend to ph at 5.6 & it rises over nutrient usage period to 5.9. 5.8 is magic imo.

You are starting with the hardest system. Frankly that plant should be bigger before going into dwc.

How many weeks from seed should they be to go into my buckets. I mean this is only 13 days from seed going into RW to germinate. I am at 275 ppms right now and 5.7 pH. They seem to be very happy and growing at a reasonable rate.

I've been using this chart ass a good starting point, you can adjust depending on strain as needed, hope this helps.

PPM for Hanna Chart PPM

Seedlings, Early Sprouts ..100 to 250 = .2 to .5 EC

Early Vegging ......................300 to 400 = .6 to .8 EC

Full Vegetation ....................450 to 700 = .9 to 1.4 EC

Early Blooming ...................750 to 950 = 1.5 to 1.9 EC

Full Mature Blooms ...........1000 to 1600 = 2 to 3.2 EC

I highly Recomend 300 ppm max for begging clones but would do half that personally.
Just cal mag @ 150-200 ppm and a super light 100 ppms of nutes.
I grow mostly kushes an never feed over 1200ppm anymore.
Veg at 400-600ppm flower week one 600 week 2 700 week 3 800 week 4 900 week5 1000 week6 1100-1200 max
Then the next two weeks just r/o and cal mag at 150ppm-300ppm
I have fed a ton more but reloaded I didn't need to.
I now feed once a week and then water+cal mag for the rest.
I use promix and hand water .
If you are looking for a good diet try:
Cutting edge micro/bloom for your base
Botanicare pure blend tea 5mls per gallon all the way through
Dynagro protekt silica 1 ml per gal start to finish
Canna pk 13/14 6mls per gal only on week 5
Then flush. Hope this helps after 8 years of snake oil this has worked wonders for me.

Is calmag essential to growing? As this is my first grow I'm trying to keep it simple and keep it as cheap as possible. I already have over $400 into this project. I am growing for a friend who is going through chemo. I know the hobby can get expensive and I'm willing to put more money into it for my next grow if I prove to have a green thumb, but if I don't I don't want to be broke AND thumbless.

Yes if your using ro you NEED cal mag.
I ran a few years without it and notice a huge difference.
Ph is important aswell and calmag is not to expensive .
I like cal magic I think it's called.
Don't feed those babies hardly any nutes yet, matter fact like 10 Mls micro/veg per 5 gal bucket of water.

Just follow your feeding schedule for the Flora series.
Always look for a feeding schedule for what ever nutrients your using.

Good Luck on Your Grow

Been dealing with poor water quality in the past myself, who knows what goes into our tap water. If its unstable for the plants then should we be drinking it??
Using R/O is nice knowing you can start with no impurities but a lot of hassle personally, i have switched back to using tap water mainly due to PH fluctuations with R/O.

Discovered most hydro nutrient mixes are formulated to be used with a starting ppm of 150. So if using R/O, i would recommend using either calmag or just adding some regular tap water to bring starting ppm upto around 150 before adding your nutrients.
Useful feeding chart DT :)

No. The main ingredient in calmag+ is the same as the main ingredient in GH flora micro, calcium nitrate. If you use RO water, you may have to use more of the micro bottle.

Calmag+ and similar products have gotta be some of the biggest ripoffs on the market. You do not need to add it to RO or distilled.

Think you could be right there churchhaze, i have never noticed a noticeable difference adding calmag except when treating deficiencies. Really just use in small quantities out of habit i suppose, although would think certain strains crave more magnesium, especially with R/O watering.
May forget using it for my current grow, hate spending on bullshit additives, but fall for the hype to easy :weed:
Do you know if it can cause lockout if not needed(even in small amounts)?

Info on the room 12 ft x 6ft x 7 ft height.
2 x 600 hps cool hoods

2 pot system auto pot
medium 50/50 mix of coco and clay balls
nutes canna a/b,rhizatonic,big bud from advanced,pk 13/14 canna

I only do 2 plants i have done more but get pretty much same yeild 24 min 28 max of two plants flowered at 18 "
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

VEG-
-----

Has soon has the clones have a good root system, there put under 1 600 hps for 1 week
i add rec dose of rhizatonic with canna a/b and set at 1.1 ec for a week
week 2 - 1.2 ec just canna a/b
week 3 - 1.3 ec "
week 4 - 1.4 ec "
By this time the plants should be 15/18" if you are useing a hps light.
------------------------------------------------------------------

FLOWERING-
-----------

week 1 - canna a/b ec 1.4
week 2 - canna a/b ec 1.5
week 3 - canna a/b ec 1.5 with 2 ml per litre of big bud
week 4 - canna a/b ec 1.5 with 2 ml per litre of big bud
week 5 - canna a/b ec 1.6
week 6 - water for 2 days then follow with pk 13/14 for 5 days
week 7 - canna a/b ec 1.6
week 8 - canna a/b ec 1.6
week 9 - water for 7 days

I have good water, so have done away with ph testing the last grow
threw me 28 oz of uk -cheese not the seed cheese the clone only one
no seed company has this i have tried most of them after i lost a mother

Hope this helps, keep things simple the same feeding sced can be done in soil
but i have all ways got less dry weight 20/21 oz.

My other job has 6 plants in a 14 ft x 14 ft x 8 ft height 5 x 600 hps
but with a 12 " out let and a 8 " inlet.

Same sced everytime .................................peace out good luck keep at it you will get there...........................................

Tyke How tall did you veg your 6 ft plants to before flowering?
And what size pots did you use.

Back to the og post: get a ppm/ph pen if you don't have one yet.
Stay away from what the company's Recomend on bottle.
Veg @ 300-600max ppm
Flower 600-1100 max weeks 1-6
Feed 1x a week water the rest
2 week flush only water and cal mag

Personally I have never used any cal mag in all the yrs I've been growing, my feeling is that it's not needed, just something to add to expenses, just my opinion, As far as feeding schedules, never paid attention, just feed my plants when needed, usually only twice a day with no problems, I'm hydro, grow in pots filed with rockwool grow cubes which stays moist, no need to feed more than twice.
