Patiently Waiting....but....

My plants just finished their 5th week of flowering today. From the looks they appear close to harvest...trich heads are milky, pistils have turned on 50% of the plant, some lower branch flowers still mostly white. They're under a 1000w HPS Hortilux, grown from seed in organic soil with good nutes. This is my 3rd grow, but in my first 2 the plants didn't start looking like this until the 7th week of flowering. I must admit I didn't do the whole organic thing in the last ones. I'm curious to what others think. Is this just because of the organics? Should I wait another 3 full weeks? I don't mind waiting, but I don't want to miss the best time to harvest either. What do y'all think? Pics are of Bubba Kush.

Peace,

Different phenotypes and conditions may change flowering time. Harvest according to how the buds look, not time.

By the way, how long did you veg those?

I vegged for about 4 weeks. I have height issues in my grow area, so I tend to stick to flowering as soon as the plant reaches a foot.

Alright, cool. I wanted to estimate how big mine would get by how much you vegged.

Does it look like another 3 weeks to you? I've read about pay attention to trichs when they're milky. And thanks for your reply too. I'm pretty happy about them.

Not ready yet. The proper time to harvest is when half the trichs are milky, and half are amber. When your plant reaches this point, MOST of your pistils will be orange.

Thanks, I'll wait for the swell and turn the fan up...I have a good ventilation, so hopefully that'll cool it down a bit. I also have super silver haze, which I will never attempt to grow inside again because of my height issues. But they definitely don't look as close to harvest as the Bubba. ;-)

Thanks Senor, I'll wait. It's nice to get feedback from others...my antsy friend keep saying they're ready. But I had a feeling I should wait.
