im thinkin half native soil or atleast untell there is a good texture and the water gell absorbs the extra water and releses it over time

Your mix dont sound to bad..

Heres my thoughts, peat breaks down an it causes flucation in ph ending up acidic if there is to much in the mix.

Because of this I just go buy Miracal grow Moisture control 1 big bag. They give me a good place to start mixing.
Add a small bag perilite about 20% of grow medium
I also add about 20 Percent manure to help grow soil microbes an add some Nitrogen.

Then I add 2-4tbl spns per gal medium of dolomite lime. Hydraded (powder) lime is stronger use 1/4 as much, an it can be waterd into the ground.
1 tbl spoon of Water absorbing gel per galon dirt.
Mg soil has time releasd Nutes so none for about a month.

You can grow in any mix- but the sucuess of the plants might not be extended to potetional.

When in doubt about ingrediant amounts, just follow the directions on the label.
