I noticed that we (as I am new to this area), there is no NORML chapter here. The closest one is Gainsville. What's up with that are we in the minority as far as smokers or what?

figure out what it takes to start a chapter and start educating your locals...
Theres alot of people who would support if asked in the right way, it's a touchy subject but more people would support it if it were an openly discussed topic...

I'm not opposed to actually trying to do this but I am recently retired from the Army and I would never be able to get a DOD job and it certainly seems that even though I get my MBA in Feburary it will not matter and I never wanted to work for the Federal or State Government again (because of their integrity/honesty) issues to make a long story short.

What I am trying to say is that this would be a serious crossroads in my life that would be hard to come back from BUT I do believe it is the right thing to do but I would need support. How would I beging; any suggestions...

I will call the National Headquarters on Friday or Monday and find out all of the information and post more then but any Ideas/Guidance would be appreciated and I will follow up with serious people willing to help the cause.

I feel in my heart that it is wrong to deny Anyone much less a terminal cancer patient pain relief because people in Washington will not admit they were WRONG in the first place for making it illegal. It is only because they don't want to reverse themselves and have prohibition over again. WE MUST HAVE THE SUPPORT OF THE PEOPLE AND VOTE FOR THE RIGHT POLITICIANS to make this happen and is our greatest challenge, but for the first time in history we are in a place where we better take our shot now as this is the best time ever.

In any event, I am willing to get the ball rolling but definitely would like to see some interest in the area?

I haven't heard much from NORML in FL outside of some college campuses and affiliated lawyers. But from what you described, you may want to get into contact with PUFMM (click here for the link) as well. They have been pretty active as far ballot initiatives and legal reform in the state.
