Hello,

So I'm posting this just to see if I can network and possibly meet some new friends as I begin my relocation to Portland Oregon.

My name is Eddie and right now I have a beautiful family of 2 with baby number 2 due in December. I also have a beautiful 11 month old daughter.

So the wife and I are planning on relocating over to Portland (mainly looking for suburbs) we liked what we have seen from The Beaverton area. Right we live in Southern CA and we always felt Portland Was a better place to raise our family. We appreciate the great outdoors more and definitely like the overall environment in Portland.

We are both in our mid 20's her experience is in I.T field, as for me I want to try and get a job in the growing cannibas field anyway I can. I feel like growing is truly a passion I want to explore but I don't mind helping a grow op as a trimmer and prove what I can do. I don't mind grinding and working 2 jobs as we get settled in.
Of course my main source of income will be serving at a upscale restaurant and tying to use my sommelier knowledge to land a sweet gig.

We want to rent a 2-3 bedroom.
Monthly rent budget is about $1500-$1700
Of course everything else is budgeted out to a T...

So with that brief description, any people out there in the cannabis field or food and beverage field?

How's the job market?

I mainly use Craigslist to see the "average" of what are the restaurants and hotels are like. My main experience is in fine dining or 5 star hotels stuff like that. I'm also a level 1 sommelier, so talk wine to me people!

Also I see the cannibas field is growing. A lot of ads for trimmers and budtenders. I don't mind my second job being an entry level one in the cannibas field but I feel like by the time I relocate i could be growing some really potent stuff.

Any feed back about location, good places to search for apartments, schools, jobs, things of that nature. I'm pretty sold on the fact of moving to that surrounding area. So let's have a productive thread here. No clutter or trash talk please.

Excited to hear from you guys.
