^ yeah.. when they're young (baby) they send them to you somehow..
i know they sell them at pet stores that sell reptiles & whatnot..
but, i can't find any where i'm at.. i googled it & there's 1 that's 15+ miles away..
& i'm not about to drive that far to get a praying mantis.. i rather pay shipping than gas money..

there's this site that sells 4 baby mantises for $25 (they pay the shipping)
but, i don't want 4 praying mantises.. lol

That is kinda funny. I hope if you live somewhere cold your waiting by the mail box, and hopefully the shipping depot is nicely heated

lol? wait by the mailbox?
whenever i ordered something online they delivered it by ringing the door bell
even the littlest package (when i ordered a 1oz stealth mushroom pipe & 2lb bat guano fert)
as for the thing being nicely heated.. i have no word on that
but either way if i do receive a dead praying mantis i'll tell them i want another one
simple as that ;)

i feel stupid for askin, but your using them for your plants right?
What benefit do u get from that?
I know certain insects benefit plants in different ways, but ive never heard
anything about a praying mantise like that.

Yeah going to retile place would be good (if traveling 15 miles to that one I would call first and make sure lol) I have a store close by maybe like 10 minutes away. Wish a hydroponic/grow shop was close I had to drive 90 miles to get the stuff for my setup (shipping would of been outrageous)

They help protect your plants against spider mites and aphids. Lady bugs serve the same purpose.

I wish I could see them all the time. I think they are cool. But do you think you have enough for a mantis to live on? I know I don't and hopefully won't have. It's a great idea but how much food do they need to live? I love your Cak Stoney

I'm not sure how much they eat.A lot, I think. But we have frogs, so we buy crickets at the pet shop.I'm sure you could do that...I like your...uh what IS that?

well, it's for my pepper plant
it's crawling with spider mites & other little bugs
i'm growing it indoors & it's growing from plain old dirt from outside
it's about 25 inches tall & my peppers are getting holes in them
so, i wanted a praying mantis to fuck them all up

& if my marijuana plant does encounter any infestation the praying mantis is there..

I started using Venus fly traps that have two other plants in the case with it. Black flies don’t have a chance and it is thriving in the perfect room temp, humidity, and light. I would rather go that route, than waking up in the middle of the night with a big ass praying mantas on my face getting ready to stab my eyes balls. Other than that I think they would make a really cool pet.

It seems like a swarm of ladybugs would be more reliable. Plus, if they finish off the infestation and start running out of food, some of the ladybugs will die, but others will live for as long as there's food. A single mantis though... it could starve before completely finishing off the infestation, or something could go wrong, and it dies, and you're back where you started. I get the mantis for the coolness factor... but practically speaking, it doesn't make much sense.

i wanted to get the mantis also for a pet to have lol
i have an old tank to let him go in & i can feed him crickets
there's a lot around at night & they sell them at this one pet store

besides praying mantises survive out in the wild
where he has to search for food in my pot it's there in front of him
my pepper plant is bushy & is in a 14" wide pot all around
i think that's plenty of walking/climbing around space for him to eat them
& eat them up again when it gets hungry again..
i would do the lady bug thing but i wanted a mantis
because it's something like a pet & a garden helper, you know?
