People who...

Ok, so, I'm going through my subscribed threads this morning, and one in particular really sticks out in my mind for this; People who only read the first post of a thread and then answer. Why is that, especially if a thread is only 1-3 pages long? I know there are others who have noticed this, along with a seeming lack of reading comprehension. I know I tend to use "big words", but isn't that what Google and the dictionary are for? I mean, almost every day I'm putting into Google "define ___________", and bammo, definitions ensue.

So, what's up with that shit?

When on forums I usually try and read the whole thread. However if I don't have much time I just reply if the threads over 2-3 pages and the original post was a question I know the answer to.
I usually say that I haven't read the whole thread.

I guess the word thing didn't quite match the rest of the idea. (My brain sometimes works too fast for the rest of me to catch up. )
But, it's my best guess as to why it seems some people respond in a manner that indicates to me that they haven't read the thread. I guess that bit was a kind of a non sequitur to anyone not in my head..

Of course, there are threads that are dozens of pages long, like FBI, I'll straight up say that I've only read part of the thread. But, there are threads that are only one or two pages long, and it's clear that the first post was the only thing read, and even other times only the thread title was read. That, or the reading comprehension is really looo-oooww.

C'mon, you know what I'm talkin' about. You're taking the piss with me cuz I called you a shandy-drinker, huh?

Actually, I do it... and I don't see anything wrong with it. I see a post, read what the OP has said and then add my opinion. In some posts I engage in conversations with others, but mostly I just like to make my point and go on.

Ok, thread in point, the Super Mites thread. Poster talks about his mite problem, and how he tried to solve it. Didn't work. Within one or two pages he posted that he tried my tobacco tea and it worked great, completely solved his problem. That thread didn't get too big, yet people are continuing to post things like "Good luck, bro!" which indicates they have no idea that he killed the mites.

I'm bustin' chops, and mine are being busted. By DWR, you chop buster, you. Go get your shandy!

Ahhh ok I see what you mean... it's like all those old thread revivals! I usually try and look at the first and last page of a thread to figure out just what you said, if the problem has been solved or not.

Where did I "bitch" about spelling abilities? Gosh, doobie, got a bug up your ass, or just a wiry hair laid across it?

And NOW, I'm going to "bitch" about reading comprehension, or better put, the lack thereof.
Read the thread, don't be a git.
