Personally I wouldn't like something made of glass....I can just see that thing shattering to bits. I've seen other similar things.... and quite frankly I think you could build your own out of a 2 liter bottle and small funnel cut down.

It does not hurt the plants to go without water within reason. I feel it makes them a little stronger when they have to work to go looking for water a little.

sounds like you are familiar with the clumsiness of stoner growers :D

the biggest danger to my plants is me

the 2 liter idea might work for a short vacation watering system.

yeah. well the globe really isnt that thin of glass. its not like u would be able to break it unless a accident or just a dumbass with it. one good concept about it tho is it goes down towards the bottom of ur pot which makes the roots have to go futher down to get it. u can kind of train its roots really. but its not good for nutes. oh and the 2 liter bottle looks kind of ghetto but i mean if it was really needed it could be used for the time. the globe has cool ass designs on it to :D

Yeah, might do good for awhile, but once the roots get there all it will be doing is keeping the roots saturated.

yeah but thats why i said u could train them. u just move it to different spot every now and then. it would probably cause root rot to just sit in the same place during the grow.

I'm not so sure about that, but if it works.......Personally, I would not use it. Now it may do good in a pinch if you leave town for a few days on vacation or whatever, but other than that I would not touch it. This is just another device that is invented to take the thought process out of something. We have enough of these things as it is.

ok.. well i am using it. and my plant never looks like it needs water at all.. sometimes i forget when the hell the last time i watered it and it never looks unhealthy.. but i mean like u said personally u wouldnt use it well thats just u. u can have fun either buying some other expensive ass auto-watering system or u could just simply use one of these. now listen to me i never said i bought this thing. i found one in my friends moms garden and he didnt care if i took it. so why the hell not right? but it works just perfectly fine in my opinion. which is the opinion coming from someone who has been using it for the past few months. =D happy growing stoners =D

hmm ive actually never heard of this stoma thing. if its true then it could be a good thing to keep it a little moist the whole time. but i do kno it is good in ways to let the soil dry out a little before waterings. but u gotta understand its not like it keeps the whole bottom of ur pot wet or anything the whole time. its more focused on a certain part of the pot. mines just at the end of my roots. but u can fix the problem of it being to moist through out the whole pot my moving it around the pot every few days. it drys those roots out where it was and starts helping another part of roots. its just like every other thing we know of. theres pros and cons

I use 1000 ppm hydrogen peroxide in my water (actually hydroponic soution) and water the plants every day (500ml/day in 5 inch square buckets). I get roughly 4 oz per month off of a 250 HPS with 9 plants in the chamber.

There is no science to support that letting your plants go dry has any benefit. Roots WILL NOT grow into dry soil.
