PerfectPH gives away free device

Well, they said they are willing to do it, but the title had to be catchy :)

Anyway... PerfectPH is a technical device (not a nutrient or something you add to your nutes) that will keep your pH stable.
Let's say between 5.7 to 6.3 (I did read different numbers, even up to 6.5)

They, Torus Hydro, are advertisers on this forum and they already gave away 3 devices.
I suggested to give another one away to someone who has to do a grow journal.
They replied that it was a good idea.

So come on guys, contact them on this forum!

I think it would be great if the person they choose is an experienced grower who totally understands his strain and his set-up.

Thanks for posting Keesje! Catchy title indeed ;) We'd definitely be stoked to get some users cataloging their PerfectpH grows on here, I'm sure we can get a couple more growers hooked up with units for this. Anyone interested feel free to post or message us and we'll get back to you this week with what we can do.

pretty cool concept. Wonder if @TorusHydro will offer a RIU discount code now that they’re advertisers
We most certainly will! We'll be rolling out some discount codes exclusively for RIU members later this week, and for guys interested in posting a grow journal with the device I am sure we can hook a couple growers up. ;)

Mike, check our reply on the other thread about your set up. If you think this would be applicable for your use hit us a message with your shipping info and I'll check with the team and see what we can do for you.

Cheers!

As long as you don't have biological contamination in your reservoir why would you need automation to dispense your HCl? @cannabineer your Ph.D. is in organic chem can you tell me why a controller is necessary?

Torus why would a hydro grow want to float above 6.1, just curious?

I am interested in this offer if it still stands... I am currently running a custom rdwc 4 pot system and I'm currently building a new setup for an 4x8 tent which will be 8 plants if I could test out the system I would be interested. I have actually looked at this setup before using resins to adjust the ph of fluids in hydroponic systems. If I could get some information on the exact ph the system will maintain hopefully between 5.6 to 6. I'd definitely run a detailed journal

I received two test units from torus hydro about a year or so ago. I blew my knee out had surgery and couldn't change my setup to test the devices they sent me. I also encountered problems because of lack of maintenance on my OP like mold and spider mites. This run is going much better but I couldn't get to test them out yet. I really need a crop using my setup without changing things again to get the value out of my cost investment

they sent a pH stick
and an inline version.

As others have experienced, I don't have a pH swing in my DTW reservoir for my coco table, so I never got to try them out. One buddy of mine has ran DWC for a while and I see this being the best application for the PH stick, so I gave it to him to try out and since he has tried it without a pH stick we are going to review the results and I'll get some pictures of them side by side. My other buddy just got the fallponics system by Gary and Penn hydro and I'm going to give him the inline version to test out. He plans on doing his first run without it and second with it.

I will follow up with details when they get started up and give the product the review it deserves. I felt like it would have been a waste to try in my DTW system.

Sorry @TorusHydro for the delay

I like PH swings in my setup. I ph down to 5.5 or so from my tap starting point of 6.8-7.1. Then it goes back up over the next 48 hours to about 6.1, and I PH down again. That repeats with the PH rise slowing down each time until there is no rise for the last 2 days my rez lasts. Im DTW.

I know these resin filters work and Ive played around with DIY versions in filter housings. The darn resin is expensive and can be dificult to work with if you get the wrong one - super fine powder in my case.

My concern is that using one of these might hide a developing problem by keeping the PH TOO stable. A sudden increase in PH can be the first sign of root rot or a rez infection and one of these might keep you from seeing that until its too late.

Except for that, and the cost, they work really well.

Did you get the right one in the end?
Curious which one you did buy.
I looked around for it, but it is not easy to find.

No, I gave up because I couldnt justify the cost - especially after I realized they can cover up a bad situation.

That was back when I was using AN PH perfect, Mega Crop, etc - nutes with rganic components. I was having repeated rez infections and the first sign was always a sudden rise in PH. If my PH didnt go up, I woudnt know until it got to the nasty smell stage and then its too late.
