Perpetual grow pot sizes in veg/clone

Will using 2gal pots for vegging/cloning be okay in a 2x4 tent with 160wat led? Then when time comes, transfer them to 5gal for flowering? The flowering will be a 4x4 600wat tent. Thanks!

5 gal is way too big for the veg W. Assuming you are running 4 plants, 3 gal would be better, but still, it's not a lot of veg light.

What? I'm trying to have a perpetual grow.. I am saying in my 2x4 tent which has a DIY quantum board that can go up to 300 watts (currently have it dimmed down to 160watts). Can I use 2gal pots in there, or should I use all clone/veg plants in 3gallons?

You didn't specify it was dimmed. If the spread of the diy is across the entire 4' span it will be good. If it's central like a hps light, not so good.. your actual light intensity would be closer to 150/200W as you will lose a lot of intensity in height to get coverage. If you do have the diy spread coverage you ''should'' be able to get enough root/canopy growth to justify 3gal pots during later veg.

If the light is hps central style then I don't think 3 gal pots is going to work. You'd be better off running 2gal pots, about 6/8 plants and moving the light daily to give all some intensity coverage.

The better option over that would be to get two more boards of around 100W watt each on either side and keep your central board on low dim and slightly higher above canopy than the 100W boards. Then run 4 plants in 3 gal pots and restrict them to 1x2' squared canopy area max, you'll need to do that to fit them into the 4x4 space. Or something like that..

Might not be what you want to hear, sorry, but the shape of the veg tent is a bit awkward for lighting/pot count to go into a 600hps 4x4.
