Perpetual Harvest/SOG Question

Most of the reading I've done has recommended either soil for a SOG or ebb and flow if going hydroponic. I was wondering if a unit like the Supercloset Superponic (https://supercloset.com/product/hydroponics-systems/superponics-16-hydroponic-grow-system/) 16 would be acceptable for such a grow or if I should just go with soil.
That system looks very sog orientated, really depends on the space you have though. btw you can make that $200 system easily for $67 or less.

Here's your supplies with max $price:
Tote: $10
Net pots: $6
Air tubing: $5
Air pump: $25
Air stones: $15
Light Timer: $6
A DIY dwc system for a third of the price of a premade one: priceless
Not to mention you can buy better quality supplies than those premade ones are made from, they normally use cheap crap, at least that's what i've seen.

If you really wanted the top feed, which you don't need, it's another $15 for the water pump. I wasted $60 on one of these premade systems when I started so I don't want others to fall for it lol good luck man

That's a lot of plants in a small foot print. I'm having trouble containing 6 in a bigger tote. Also I'm having issues with timing and almost need three seperate areas to go perpetual :o. My clones are ready to flower before my flowering ones are ready to harvest lol. If I veg til there ready to move then their to big so I need a preflower room I guess lol. And yup you could build a system cheaper if you have some tools around like a drill. I use stacked totes and a water pump to fill and drain the upper smaller (shallower) tote and it works great using no air stones. Also remember you will need to keep the water temp Coolish, much over 70 and you struggle. Good luck and keep reading and asking.

Budley - This is exactly the issue I'm dealing with; basically that vegged clones are ready to flower when their flowering clones are only halfway done. I do have 2 lights (a 1200w LED and a better 300w LED) so I've got 2 sides to my flowering room (since they're both on 12/12 anyway it doesn't matter dividing them) adjusting the lights accordingly. Still working out the kinks, I'm only 2 rounds into the perpetual.

I need to get some new strains though, my raspberry cough crop is cloned from a single pheno and not yielding all that well. The seed was about a year old when I germinated it so I think I need some fresh blood... making up my mind now on what to go with. I'm loving this AK48, Master Kush, Wonder Woman, Super Skunk feminized variety pack from Nirvana https://www.nirvanashop.com/en/feminized-marijuana-seeds/915-hybrid-fem-mix.html

Ya I need to open up more room in the main area for flowering, also the vegging plants are getting to big so I'm almost going to have 3 different trays flowering at the same time lol. It's getting complicated :).

I'm literally sitting here with a bowl on my screen porch early spring brainstorming my (entirely finished, yet improvable haha) basement garden. I DWC veg in the big plastic folgers coffee cans in 5" net cups and roots, top 2x and flower. Never screened but I want to try a 6 plant scrog above a 17 gallon tub, probably 20"x30". I'm thinking about a little rack with casters to wheel them around the concrete floor, that way I can rearrange with the screen attached to the tub lid.
