Hello all, I am back from the Dark side of prohibition, I have emerged unscathed and after 6 long years idle, I've dusted off the cobwebs and my grow room is up and running again!

First off I appreciate any and all comments feel free to post good or bad.

So much has changed since my last stent as a gardener. IT'S FINALLY LEGAL IN MY STATE!!! Autoflowers and LED's are good and HPS is out...

With no further ado, my plans are to start a top-notch genetic AutoFlower perpetual. At first, I will use my old (because they are still hooked up) HID lighting, and once a grow or 2 is complete, I will most likely switch to a Mars Hydro smart light ive been looking at.

1694056752444.png

This will allow me to experiment with the cost/production/side effects of HID vs LED. fun stuff

Current Light ----------------> 1694057415575.png

Medium is still Miracle Grow Moisture control potting soil ( I just love it, only reason I would change is to save money) I will be using 3 gallon Vivosun fabric pots.

I use the Claber Oasis Automatic Drip Watering System

I will feed with Foxfarm Liquid Nutes later in the grow

I've had enough smoke from the reservation and it's time to make mine better!

Please come along with me and leave your suggestions comments and bitches:)

I have always been better with Clones than seeds! Here are some shots of perfecting my bean-popping method.

out with the solo cup method for now. I may revisit this for vegetables.

moving on, soaking in a cup for 18 hours then to a paper towel in a zip lock bag. Also sitting on a Vivosuns heat mat.

Is that greenhouse Seeds super lemon haze? Been wanting to try it for a while!

Best method I’ve seen for seeds are these root riot cubes u get. Perfect blend of air/water and they germinate very quickly!

No this is an Autoflower version bred from ILGM

However, I have a lot of experience with Greenhouse Seeds photoperiod version of SLH and I love the lemon undertones it actually made my grinder smell of lemons. It grows beautifully is potent and very easy to learn on.

So September 11th has arrived as you would expect. One of my cats is at it again toping for me.

Hopefully, this young autoflower will still be able to produce, Everyone says any stress in the first 20 days of an auto can be irreversible sue to thier short veg times:(

Well here is the Catastic-Topping of my Strawberry Banana Auto by Hits Blunts seeds.

SEED FRUSTRATION has ensued. Fails are piling up, I have 2 Mephisto and 2 ILGM for a total of 4 beans probably dead.

I tried in the dirt, in the cup then the wet paper towel and baggie all sitting at 6 days with no sprouts. I did learn that I should have had my plastic bag and paper towels not sealed completley so I was suffocating the beans.

1694930489343.png

I've ordered a ph testing tool and planning new procedures that will work for bean popping in my garden.

1694930110548.png

I will go over my seed holocaust as it continues... (I plan to use root cubes soon)

ALSO, why do I keep forgetting to use some of the 8 gallons of bottles of water I have lying around? {I've always used my city tap water with no problems}

so at day 15 of veg here is how I sit

Super Lemon Haze is the show stopper followed by Strawberry Banana and the White Widow runt I don't have the heart to destroy.

I have always done just a wet paper towel on a regular ceramic plate with great success for germinating seeds. Leave in an area where it is fairly dark and just make sure the paper towel stays moist. Most fails are because of junk beans. If they don’t sprout in 72hrs then it’s not worth growing usually. Had a female self pollinate and out of 40 beans maybe one didn’t germinate. And it was 48hrs with all showing about an inch taproot.
Big fan of ILGM genetics, they have one of the best germination rates of seed banks I’ve used over the years. Seedsman is a close second. Have yet to try Mephisto, though I see a lot of fans on this forum of their stuff.
I too have had seedling mass deaths, and failures to sprout. Getting a watering schedule that doesn’t drown seedlings can be a challenge because it’s a Goldilocks thing of not too much, not too little. Maybe 1-2oz. of water every other day to start.
Hope this helps.

it does and I appreciate your experience with seedlings, I've always been a clone'er

16 Days into my new favorite pastime :weed:

Lots of things going on around the garden, I have gotten a new light, set up a new veg area, and am trying an old seedling/clone procedure of mine.

There are many irons in the fire right now, I will be throwing seeds at this problem until it grows

My auto seeds are new, my photoperiod seeds are approximately 5 -6 years old :(

I give you the MARSHYDRO FC3000 smart light

1695187454621.png

at first the plants loved it, i turned it to 100 becaue i wanted to leave it at the top of my room about 6 feet above the plants, so i turned it up too 100% and checked the DLI and PPFD with my phone app, well...

1695188386264.png
2 days later I HAVE STRESSED MY AUTOS, this is going to be a learning grow thats for sure.

1695188589388.png1695188652282.png

I SHOULD HAVE REALIZED WHEN I WENT IN THE ROOM AND STARTED POURING SWEAT THE PLANTS WOULD BE FRYING TOO!!!

I have now lowered my dimer to 25% which will increase as I read my plants, I trust my observation more

Sweet success, I feel as if the world has been lifted off my shoulders. May I present my new baby girls BRUCE BANNER and Strawberry Banana.

My mistake was sealing the plastic bag when using a wet paper towel in a sandwitch baggie to sprout the seeds, so i created a sprourting box with holes in the top and left it in a drawer works like a charm poped in 2 days.

As September ends things are looking great in the growshow.
I have gotten bean popping down with use of: 24 hours in a cup of bottled water - then - into the damp {not dripping} paper towel using a VENTALATED plastic container. When the tap roots are out (any root showing) - then - directly into the final pot for Autos and into the solo for Photos.

current plant list

1696138996686.png

LO = Lemon Orange (Green House Seeds)
SLH = Super Lemon Haze (Green House Seeds)
WW - white widow (ILGM)
SB = Strawberry Banana (Hits Blunts Seeds)
AH = Amnesia Haze (ILGM)
GG = Gorilla Gule (Black Skull Seeds)
BAN = Bruce Banner (ILGM)

Hitting flower @ day 27 are SLH and SB
Thoughts I need to get much better with autos these are tiny. Hopefully, the ones to come will be much better as I work hard at dialing in my VPD.

Also, I need to figure out the best light position and dimmer setting. Using a PPFD/DLI app on my phone is still not cutting it.
