Pest/nuisance control/local soil questions

Hey growers I'm aware it's late in the year but I've got some autos on their way. This thread is going to ask 2 questions. First one being how do I control pest which includes anything that will harm my plants... deer turtles etc. Second question below.



I have 5 seeds on my way all autos. I had only enough money to buy a 2 cubic ft bag of fox farm happy frog soil. It will only fill 2 5 gallon pots. My options now are to only use the local soil which may or may not be all that good. Will the plants live until harvest using my local soil at my grow spot?

Any bag soil that has nutrients lasts typically 30 days minimum. After that expires apply a dry fertilizer each month for whatever stage you happen to be in at the time.

Why don't you run smaller pots for your autos .....there's guys on here using much smaller than 5 gallon pots doing good ......I've taken native soil mixed it with ffof and extra perlite and done quite well ...as far as pest large ones you just need a fence around your grow ....and small ones such as bugs you can look I to things like azamax and neem concentrate .....I've used those for a long time with great results .....GL
