Does anyone have any experience using pet flea and tick shampoo to rid of caterpillars and aphids I put a few plants that were in veg outside and 2days later I seen a dozen of tiny loop worms caused a lot of damage and out of desperation I was gonna make homemade insecticide with dawn soap and remembered I had flea and tick Shampoo for my dogs used that instead and I have some on my plants that are 4weeks into flower I wanted to spray them down with the same solution anyone have an experience using this as a remedy what if I soaked them in the soapy solution then sprayed them down with water shortly after thanks in advance to any feed back FIRST TIME GROWER oh yea this shampoo works really well and the plant I sprayed it on didn’t show any signs of stress or damage from the solution

Please don't do this ever again. There are safe, natural alternatives, you don't need to spray your plants with poison meant to be washed quickly off of non food animals.

I have ordered lacewings for the aphids twice but there’s no way they can take down a caterpillar and pray mantis are out of season and they are expensive do have any suggestions I just don’t want an infestation in my hands I been hand picking them off daily when surveying the damaged they cause chewing up leaves and leaving excrement all over my flowers I’ve worked so hard to achieve trust me last thing I want to do is use poison if this is not safe procedure and could be harmful to anyone including myself

Although pet shampoo and such do carry pyrethrum…. It also carries other non botanical chemicals.
There are “ garden safe “ pyrethroids that are designed for garden use. I’m sure all of the surfactants / soaps within would also wreck the leaf surface.

They make cheap effective spray for caterpillars. Lots of brands but they all use a specific bacillus strain. Thuricide is one brand name I think. If safer brand has a good one too

Kool thanks I read on a site to not use bt to close to harvest so I’m not willing to risk my first yield to rid of caterpillars I just have to sacrifice some of my harvest back to Mother Nature I’m okay with that since she put some work in and made it possible thanks everyone who responded to my post 1st TIME OUTDOOR GROW41196063-3162-4A1B-8087-287D15BC7658.jpegE10E1458-969E-466A-A703-D70808A39B76.jpeg85026B18-085A-47AB-A1A4-C04FCA58EB9A.jpeg
