Petsmart Ro system $89 any good?

Can anyone tell me if this is a waste of $?

Looks fine. Depends on your needs. It only does 24 gallons a day, meaning a gallon an hour.

Cheapest, and the smallest.

24 gallons per day is way too slow. I'd go with something like this instead:

Well for soil it should be fine. 24 gallons an hour? Can't see needing more then that.

For hydro, that a different story.

I was thinking having it fill my 55gall drum wile Im at work or somthing. I can't and don't want to spend $500 bucks on one.

This is the filter that I use: http://www.4hydroponics.com/grow_room/smallBoyFilter.asp . It's more in your price range and filters water a lot faster. The website says 60 gal/hour, but I believe it says only 45 on the box. Either way, it's substantially faster than the one you are looking at. The other thing is that it is not a R/O system, meaning it will not filter as much as the one you are looking at. However, my main focus is ridding the water of chlorine/chloramines, not purifying it. Hope this helps.

My friend, that's their "estimated retail" pirce. The unit sells for only $87.
