PH an well water questions

Ok so my well water is 69.8F and ph is right around 5.60-5.65.There is no filters or water treatment systems attached to our lines(thats right pure ice cold ground water)

Now I'm not sure on the hardness and whatnot but should it be safe to use in a SH bubbleponics system?I figure it's no different than what the plants outside would be drinking.I have a Brita filter pitcher and PH is around 5.80 with it.Figure would save me time just filling the res instead of filling the filter then waiting.

Your water is very acidic.

If you do not have too much Calcium in your water,
you may be able to use it.

Only trial and error will tell.

Keep the nute loads low, and see what happens.

Your water temp is not that cold.
My tap water is in the low 50sº
but growing with it does not work,
I have to use RO.

That temp was without letting the water run.I ran it for 30secs and re checked and it's not a major change but got a reading of 14.1c/57.4f.

I'm trying half and half Brita and pure well water.The plants look good so far and when I started it was all Brita water.

PH is a lil low but I've read nutes can bring that up so gonna let it sit for 24 and recheck tomorrow.

The nutes I use always brings the ph down as opposed to up. Tap water is always fairly high ph while rainwater is usually slightly acidic. Works thataway in the cement pond anyway. Dont think I would depend on nutes to raise your ph. Just thinking out loud here.

i have well water check your aerator for mold first then u have to remember that it does has softner in it. i tried using well water unfiltered( i boiled it instead of a Brita filter)and it gave me a film over the water after a few days. i get my water form the store i have 4 5 gllon jugs that i fill fo $.25 a gallon and it perfect ph my plants love it.

you are best to take to get your water tested,depending on were you are the prices for haveing it tested are around 80 dollars.i just had to buy an ro because i was physically incapable of hauling bottled water any more,but i have well water which was no good and town water that has 190 ppm of sodium alone.earl how often do you have to change your filters in your ro.

thanks man,i cant remember how many plants you have in flower,but i will check your posts.i bought the 5 stage,what is the cost of all your replacement filters.

Well I've never used anything but well water.1st time was Brita filtered this time I did half Brita half plain water.Time will tell.

As for TRAPPERS comment.Yeah I have nothing like your well set up.I have a pump to a pressure tank to my faucet.No softeners,no aerators...nothing.Also as for the water test you can take a sample to some pool stores and tell them this is your pool water and they will give you a free water test to evaluate your pool.Just play dumb when they ask you about your pool chemicals.

Just took a reading....5.68PH and 75.2F (I'm using frozen water bottles that I added saltwater too till I can come up with a water chilling method.Saw on MYTHBUSTERS saltwater had a lower freeze point.must be true cause a bottle was in freezer for 2 days and still not frozen lolforgot to switch it out earlier so temps went up in res)If anyone has a cheap,easy to build water chiller system link it please.

those tests for pools are not testing how much sodium,calsiam,magnesium,phosphate,iron maybe iron,but for the most part the test is not what you want,if your serious about your plants have a real water test done or get an ro machine,untill then you will have problems,sometimes it just takes money to fix something to make it right.

The place I go to tests for all that stuff.Comes with a little print out of all the levels and tells you what to do to adjust it.Of course the adjustments would be way off cause a pool is so much larger.

If i can find my pool analysis papers from few weeks ago I'll post a pic
