pH buffer = less pH fluctuations

So I was complaining to a friend of mine the other day about how you have to constantly monitor pH fluctuations in the nutrient reservoirs of hydroponic systems, and he recommended that I use some sort of buffer solution to keep pH stabilized...I remember seeing something similair to that on this forum before but didn't have any luck finding it with the search...does anyone know anything about how to buffer your nute solution?

Why someone is not marketing a PH buffer for 5.8 I don't know. Some nutes claim to do it but that's about it. It is true that a buffer, or stabilizer, does not buffer to any pH you set it to. There are buffers at 6.5, 7.0, 7.5 and 8.0 for aquariums, and 5.2 for home brewing.

I have the same problem, luckely this is my only job right now, Do you use Mad Farmer Nutz? aka Diamond nector? this is what my hydr shop tells me buffers and keeps it more stabile. use 5-10ml per gallon. I usually use the full amount, but still have to adjust ph once a day. supposenly Advanced nutrients has their Ph perfect lone of nutes but my hydro store sells "A.Nutrients" and they cant even get any answers from the represenatives about it. lame, thats why I dont run "A.N"

Im using Ph down / Ph Buffer an oganiclly buffered solution and Mineral Magic (General Hydroponics) and no problems with my tank. Sometimes Ph + fluctuations just means that your plants are feedin heavy ;) Diamod Necatar does not help you control your ph levels. I have it, use it, works fine :D

Quote for General Hydroponics
"Diamond Nectar facilitates the absorption of nutritive elements by the plant, and naturally stimulates its growth."

So my advice would be Ph down / Ph Buffer an oganiclly buffered solution and Mineral Magic8)

Any good nutrient source are buffered for hydro use! I am currently using GH 3 part for growth and AN 3 part plus additives for flower.

Make sure which ever nute brand you use has chelated substances which allow for the absorption of the crucial nutes in the prospective ranges!

To everyone out there that says weekly nute/res changes are required; I say F that! I don't change my res more than twice a grow ever!

Uh....I'm not familiar with the "mineral magic powder" so I can't help with that....but, you bumped/posted in a 3 year old topic.

Notice how the replies below you are to the original topic issue...?

I think you should have made your own topic.
