PH calibration help.

Hey everyone. First time grower here. I bought a PH meter and some calibration solution, the problem is the solution is 7.0 and when I go to calibrate my pen it flashes 6.86. Can I calibrate my pen with the solution or do I have to order some different solution or pen? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What kind of ph meter is it? 7.0 & 4.0 is usually standard in calibrations for most manufacturers.

Cant say I've heard of it, but you should be able to calibrate to a standard 7.0 calibration solution if it has a calibration function built into the tester.

you cant use tap water, it has to be deionized water; if your are using the packets.

also your local hydro store might do it for free.

The solution is is ph 7, your pen has an accuracy of +-.2 or most ph pen do (mine is +- .1). So, if yours is reading 6.86, that's good, it doesnt have to read 7

When I press the calibration button it flashes 6.86 and 4.01. It doesn't flash 7.0 at all

So I can calibrate it with 7.0 solution and it will be ok if it's 0.14 off?
