PH drift

hey all i have a quick question. how fast does your PH drift? mine drift from 5.8 up to about 6.2 or 6.3 over a 12 hour period, is that normal? i am in the process of switching over from soil to hydro, but i have one DWC that stays stable and drifts about 2 points over a few days, but that one goes up over a 12 hour period is making me think it has a unseen problem. also will myco madness cause the PH to stabilize? thanks for the reply's up front ya'll

Depends on how fast your plants are taking up nutrients, rapid pH flux can also indicate rootzone disease. Some pH drift is a good thing because different nutrients are absorbed better at specific pH ranges. Smaller reservoirs will generally require more pH maintenance as well. Without more info I can't say definitey but your pH range sounds healthy :peace:

Are you noticing your PPM's go lower and pH go up? If so that is a good sign that your plants are doing well and eating well. Also did you soak your hydroton in pH'd water after rinsing them? I noticed if you don't you'll get pH drift for a little while then it normalizes.

i'm using advance hydroponics PH up .. general hydroponics PH down .. i use a blulab truncheon .. my ppm is right around 800, this one's a clone .. what i meant by 2 points was like from 5.8 to 6.0. i see what ya guys are sayin as to the ppm going down and the ph going up. its a small dwc that holds a 1.5 gallons .. nahh i didn't soak my hydroton in PHed water, i guess mebe i should have though. i'm thinking it could be sick cause it hasn't shown any root development like the others, and they are going good.
