PH help please.

I bought two ph testers, a strip tester and a thing you drop 5 drops of some red shit in it, Both you compare colors. My PH is 7.0-7.4 on both tests. I'm growing in soil. Do i need 5.2-6.0? and do i need to test my water after i add nutes?

You must test the water after you add nutes and you want pH between 5.7-6.5 is what i find to work best!7.0-7.4 is way too high add pH down to your nute solution before watering.

Right, with soil you can run your Ph a little bit higher than hydro, so I usually make sure my runoff is Ph'd at about 6.4 and then adjust my nutrient solution and water accordingly.

Your nutes will most likely make your Ph go up. Check the water and adjust accordingly AFTER adding the nutes. As MMMpatient said, in soil your Ph can be a little higher.
