Hows it going guys, first post looking for a little advice.

I’ve recently set up an 8 pot DWC, plants are two weeks in,

Im finding my ph rising like crazy, i make up about 200L of food, but everyday my ph is up sometimes 0.3/0.4.

Ive added down to try and help and am currently draining to make my new feed up today,

I use tap water with a filter for the chlorine

the last mix i did was 200L
500ml A
500ml B. ( house and garden aqua flakes )
Low because their still young
I added about 8.5 ml down, to bring it to 5.8.

they yellowed a bit so added 100ml canna nitrogen, two days later, plants look alright but not shooting up as expected, and ive had to add further Down as it was up 6/6.4
As i say im going to do the new mix today but was hoping to avoid the same thing,

ppms where 1250
I have two flat air stones with a pump and chiller in the tank keep the water 18*c

recirculates 6 times 24 hours.

thanks in advance

I had a 4 stage RO system on the last one but it come at a trickle was taking really long to fill and wasted too much water so i just use the hose and filter now.

The air pump for the tank is jsut a small two line one, the one for the pots is big. I was under the assumption the more bubbles the better,

the pump is not massive but i need that for the chiller as the water temp ruined the last one, i got pythium and they never really recovered, ive got limited space and the resivour gets warm

I would have been aiming for 800, i just don't know whats going wrong,
Ive got good root growth so far but the plants dont seem to be moving

im seriously considering starting over in coco but i would rather learn how to get this right

They are probably stunted from root rot but if you got them thru it they will take off just got to let them recover

The small black thing near the bluelab meter is the pump for my tank, ive tied one of the lines.

Also Merry Christmas
How many harvests have you had with this set up? Looks like you got some $$ tied up in it thats for sure. I had a bout with root rot. I caught it right away and saved my girls but for a week maybe two they were stunted. I could tell they were ok because after I treated them the leaves perked up some but they did not do no obvious growing above ground for a while. I will never try to grow without bennies ever again! The hell with water temps and h2o2 and all that. Keep us updated wish you the best of luck

Always check your roots anytime anything gets out of whack and doesn’t adjust or stay adjusted. Many use hydrogen peroxide regularly. I never did. Solution temperature really should never exceed 70 degrees. It’s important to check temperature regularly too.

Read about using peroxide and keep in mind 36% hydrogen peroxide is corrosive. It will hurt you. It’s cheaper a lot of times at Sally Beauty Supply instead of a grow shop.

Use rubber gloves. Wear eye protection if you’re spastic or safety minded. Like with any corrosive add it to the large volume of water. Do not attempt to pour water in a container of that stuff. Read the MSDS for it.

The ro filters are slow and do waste a lot of water, but it's worth both the time and waste, even a big grow isn't gonna add much to your water bill.

This is only my second one, i put everything from the first into this set up hoping id have better results

Ill get a commercial RO system next, my last one was a small domestic thing i had under the sink, i was more concerned with the environmental impact of the wastewater when filling 300L

Some of the roots today look good but other strands look brown and wilted,

i did the new feed at 300L with 500ml a&b with 12ml ph down, ppms are still 1020 / 1050
Im going to chech again tonight to see whats going on

Ive read a few threads where Great White was added and it makes the roots go brown.Organic stuff in hydro is a tricky thing.
I would stick to the hydro guard type products.

My nutes stain the roots redish brown so maybe yours do as well but if slime or smell I'd do a h202 soak (the whole net pot and all just soak and rinse add h202 to rez till it clears up then use bennies or continue the whole grow with h202
