Ph lockout or calmag?

So I'm going to pull a section of my grow journal out and paste it here.
I grow in soil with some fish fertilizer 8-8-2 lots of perlite and coco
I should mention that the source of my soil was unknown (possibly a mistake on my part)
It came from my friends dad he told me it was good dirt. It was dark and rich and very wet i mixed it with perlite and coco along with the recommended fish fertilizer.

I have maintained a source water ph of 6.5
my water comes directly from a constantly running stream next to my house
I am in a greenhouse with supplemental light at night to stretch.
Im in the rainforest of hawaii : )

Strain is Grandaddypurps

There are some issues in the garden.
Throughout the first month of life there were some slight issues on very young leaves which i now learning was possibly a start of a calmag deficiency.
Amongst other things i believe the plants to be slightly overwatered and the ph could possibly be off as well. This could also be rust or root aphids I’ve read. Anyway I’m going with my gut and that is calmag deficiency. The young leaves developed spots and died off then slowly the rust looking spots are moving to the tops of the plants. which leads me to believe calmag deficiency. Atleast thats what I’m gunna treat it for and report there reactions. Ive got a bottle of cal mag and will water it in my next watering. I feel like the plants don’t need water right now but I’m gunna do a tester anyway to see how it responds. I will water in the most effected plant with 4ml cal mag and I’m also gunna give one a foliar spray to see how it responds. I will also take a soil sample and test its ph. Will report findings in the days to come. I have sued the neamoil applications unitl the plants show vigorous growth again.

Ok i added some cal mag to the reservoir at 3/4 strength about.
3.5 gallons water in the reservoir
10ml calmag.
The directions say 3-5ml per gallon. I was closer to 3mlper gal then 5. but if they respond well ill boost it up.
I watered the big pot and the most directly affected plant. I also sprayed the most directly effected plant and put under the shade. Will report more when i notice changes.

Night time garden check:
The plant i sprayed had no obvious improvements but deffinately no negative effects.
Tested the soil ph of the plant sprayed, the plant most effected. it came up neutral 7 which could be a tad high.
I sprayed all of them with cal mag foliar feed before i went to bed.

I tried to be very thorough but if you have any questions ask and ill answer. I should also note that These photos are taken at night when the plants naturally droop every morning like clock work they pray.
Thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

OK so the site is unable to upload photos at the moment so i will do my best to describe symptoms and upload photos when the site figures out its own deficiencies. haha. When the plants got there first true leaves the pilot leaves started to show brown rust like spots. I thought nothing of it as it was not progressing to new growth. In the weeks to come it progressed and now i have rust like spots all over my fan leaves as well as some canoeing inwards like a classic lockout. Also accompanied by this is stunted slow growth. Will post pictures as soon as the website allows. Any insight?

Your description sounds like what I just dealt with. calmag with every watering and you should see new growth come in nice and green. Took about 2 days for mine to improve. I suspect the coco is robbing calcium.

I'd go with the suggested dose. From everything I've read it's kinda hard to over do it with calmag.

I'm no expert tho so you should get a pic up somewhere and link it. Imgur maybe?

Aloa, could it be that the water youre using is very low ppm?
Is there information to gather of this stream?
Sounds a bit like that, therefore there will be no calcium or magnesium in it.
Dont know what your fertilizer supply, looks like you will find the culprint.
Good Luck

here are some recent findings the day after my initial post as yes i believe it to be calmag which is an easy fix but its not an easy fix when your soil ph is ALKALINE : ( anyway heres a read if you have time and photos will be coming as soon as roll it up fixes there server. Either way really appreciate the feedback
So I’m trying to figure out the issues in the garden. Im fairly certain i have calmag def. caused by improper soil ph.
i took the two most curled plants and did a couple different tests to figure out where my soil ph lied as i knew it was a classic lockout.
The calmag def….
There may be plenty of calmag in the soil but its being locked out because the ph of my soil is to high.
so this is what i did.
I took plant a: showing calmag def. alongside curling and what appears to be lockout do to improper ph.
I tested the soil ph and it rang in alkaline.
I flushed the 1gal container with roughly 2 gal of water phd at 5.0 with a very small dose of calmag.
I then checked my run off and it measured in at roughly6.5 WHICH CLEARLY shows my soil ph is way to high.
I then drained the access water and tested the soil ph once more reading neutral (still a little to high but better)
I would have flushed again with 5.0 water to bring the ph down more but i ran out of soil ph tests so I’m gunna buy a soil ph meter and check again in a couple days repeat flushing if i have to.
My conclusion and lesson learned is always check soil ph and adjust if needed prior to planting. These are issues that are avoidable from the start. Im researching ways to naturally drop soil ph and go from there. Will report the plants progress after the flush in the days to come. And will also re asses th soil ph of all containers when i get the ph soil meter.
I also added about 15 worms to each plants i flushed as over water in has been a concern. If i can correct the ph and see vigorous or at least healthy new growth i will hit them with aact. And popcorn enzymes

Those were my garden notes from yesterday today i bought the a ph test meter and will take samples of each of my 9 plants to get a ph reading and I've waited to water i believe its time today so they will all get a full dose of cal mag? anyways i could only upload one photo because of roll it ups issues more to come mahalo
