ph meter for soil

ok so i bought a rapitest ph probe for soil and it seems to suck ass..i kept lowering my ph with ph down and my meter keeps reading 7...now i think i've have gone too far..but no way to be sure???

i need a good ph tester for soil..i want a quality tester..willing to pay up too $100 canadian ..also is it better to just check the runoff????

please somebody help me...been doing alot of research and havn't gotten any help

Rapitest type pH meters show pH that depends on the soil mositure level. To reliably measure soil pH you have to use normal pH meter with glass electrode and stick to the procedure as described here: measuring pH of soil and other procedures

The most notable case of pH measurement problems with rapitest type meter was a man that has his small field on the slope - and soil pH was always higher at the lower end of the field. It was not pH problem, but as you may easily guess lower part was always more wet.
