I'f I'm going to spend over seventy five bucks for a meter and I can only afford to get one or the other...I would like to hear your opinion as to which and why. Thanks in advance.

Ph meter or TDS?
Damn tough question.
Importance probably depends on what grow methos your using. Hydro? Soil?
Both meters are as important as the other.
Without the correct PH you will lock out important nutrients. Fluctuations in PH will also cause lots of probs.
Without knowing your EC or PPM you'll be flying by the seat of your pants when it comes to nutrient strength.
I would say get a PH meter first. If your PH is off your stuffed no matter what nutrient strength your using.
At least with nutrients you can read the plants a bit better just by looking at them to diagnose deficiencies or overdoses and you can just add what the directions on the bottle says as a starting point.
