Ph problems! Did my research but no solution found!

No it stays the same plus or minus ten ppm throughout the week
that is perfect. it means they are drinking and eating the same amount.

i still think it's the seaweed additive. try your next res change without it and see what happens. it won't hurt your plants to go a week without a bit of seaweed.

Sounds reasonable to me! Ill stick with my normal routine minus the seaweed. At this point , like you said, it should have no affect to the plants.

Ok I've done a little more research and I came across a product called recharge. Now as I noted I use beneficial tea regularly which is what recharge is. Now Im assuming that recharge is a little more diverse then what I use that not that relevant to what Im getting. The user that wrote the article is one that Ive followed since I began because he uses my style of growing.
Anyway he's noted that because of the tea he is able to have wider ph swings because of how the bennies assist in the delivery of nutes. It caught my eye because earlier in my grow I was suspicious of my meter so I took to the local grow shop! I found out that my calibration solution was contaminated and that my meter was + 1.2 points off. So when I was adjusting to 5.8 I was actually at 7.0 which should have killed my plants if you go by the recommended ph of 5.5 to 6.1! This really put things into perspective for me because my plants showed no signs of any stress.

Note: I took the corrected color pic through my BD glasses and they were dirty but you get the picture! These were taken at the same time just different angles obviously. 20151024_085030.jpg 20151024_084940.jpg

I'm not saying this is the solution to my problem and I should just let my ph drift. However I think someone with a deeper knowledge of bennies could clarify or correct my theory. Im anxious to hear everyone's thoughts on this! By the way I would post the link to the write up but Im not sure if its against this cites's rule to post a link from another site.

i tried bennies in dwc (not the tea but just the additives). didn't like. switched to rdwc and sterile res using dutchmaster zone. 5mL per 5 gal at reg strength and $14 per liter is cheap and easy. when i did that, my EC slightly dropped during the week and my pH slowly went up. i would set it at 5.5 and by res change would be at 6.1

not saying running bennies is bad. just sterile worked better for me and was so much easier in the long run.

having the pH drift is better than a stable pH in my opinion. mine would take a week to get out of range but it sounds like yours is daily out of range.

Yeah experience has been the opposite. Before I would get root rot mid to late flower. I have had my best runs using teas.

Exactly! My first lesson learned was to learn how to read my plants. What works for one person or grow wont necessarily work for yours because of the variables! I love this shit! :bigjoint:

Do you use Citric Acid as you pH reducer? If this is the case, Citric Acid precipitates out within 24 hours. Other than that, as the plant uses up the nutrients, it will reduce the overall acidity. *shrug*

@Skylander Grow either hydroponics or organics don't mix the shit together you'll make a bacterial soup. You need to clean your equipment out with hydrogen peroxide now.
