ph question??

hi i recently tested the runoff of 1 of my pots. i used 8.0 ph water and the runoff was 7.4. does this mean that my soil is acidic? what do you think the ph of my soil is roughly.

WOW!!!! you really need o lower that ph. I use FFOF and when i water (or feed) I always ph my water to 6.5 to 6.6 and the run-off in FFOF is about 6.6 to 6.7 right where it should be. My "tap" water runs about 7.0 to 7.2 witch is also abit high BUT 8.0 WOW thats way to high. Do u have a ph meter?

yea i have a ph meter but i think my ph of my soil is too acidic cause after i added my nutes to my water it went from 8 to 5.7 and iv been watering like that for a few weeks as iv only just got my ph meter. next time the water dries il use 6.8 water and see what the runoff is?
