PHOGS Phase III

This is phase III of PHOGS. Here I am taking a small closet space and attempting to maximize quality, yield and automation giving more time to the grower for other interest in life. I am hoping somewhere down the line in later phases to increase foot print and hopefully increase yield. I think currently producing more than 4 oz from a square foot area of less than 6ft with a 240 watt led for coverage which was a veg to bloom not just bloom only light will take without changing light better focus on creating the canopy. Sure I can bump the light and attempt some tweaks on aeration of water in reservoir and feeding. Ultimately I need to build a even canopy first So that will be a primary focus with the aeration of feeding secondary. I am sure light will increase as well but I want to keep that consistent at moment to see how well getting a more uniform canopy helps. I also have a second layer soil change as to what is in the 2 gallon pots that stays a secret for now.

So some things I was hoping to accomplish on this run is a more uniform canopy with clones taken at same time and mainlined trained accordingly. Well I had some branches again that are anywhere 3 to 4 inches lower then others in the manifold structure, so I must revisit nugbuckets thread perhaps produce more clones now to choose best from or more practice ultimately to perfect building the manifold.

Also I noticed in my last the younger of the clones really didn't get much of a shot to establish roots in reservoir and there growth showed in comparison the the others in the back that did. To correct this I've decided to start the one gallon cloth buckets directly on the water reservoir encouraging root growth through bottom of cloth. Once I noticed beginnings I moved forward with transplant into 2 gallon cloth pots with a newly found product I am testing in place of SS by subcool. I've packed the two gallon back 1/4 to 1/3 full, whetted added extreme microbes planted one gallons with roots hanging down into new 2 gallon. Added fresh EWC top side with water drench highly aearted water. Ensured reservoir full.

Note shortly after planting these one gallon pots directly onto the water reservoir container roots began to grow through this I think will accelerate flowering growth to come.

In addition I got really aggressive with my lollipopping of these young ladies really want to focus growth to upper 1/3 of branch for the most part I think I accomplished this. Hoping for big single colas!

3 Weeks of flowering 10/6/13

Okay got some good recent pics to show off my ladies long legs and perky not yet busty tops. Typically I'm told in lolloping just to take bottom one third I took mostly half or more leaving approximately 6 to 9 node site per branch.
They seem to be fairly tight together so if I can get them fed well and bush them up should be nice to harvest. I am hoping this will eliminate any pop corn flowers and that this will maximize the top sites left to produce a solid continuous cola of a flower.

A flowering update.. I'm liking the tight multiple bud sites on each viable branch. One plant only has 7 (obviously I need to hone my skillz here), the other three have 5 to 6 good uniform branches with a couple of short ones between. I've got some good feedback on the mainlining page on how to better manage growth to get it to become more symmetrical.

But for the most part after lollipopping I think I have a good canopy going, again this area is less then 2x4 space using less then 200 watts for LED and very little CFL lighting.
These gals are just mid way through 3rd week flowering. I already see orange hairs on some of the calyxes right front. They are approximately 24 to 26 inches in height, with only the top 8 to 9 inches with flowering sites. All lower branches were removed about a week and half ago around the end of Sept.

From what I am seeing looks like I may be able to get these tops to bud out real nice. Overall from what I have here in this small medical closet is very productive relative to size and power used and could be easily replicated, low cost, perpetual and very maintenance free. So concept proven a self watering and self feeding grow op is possible and to boot very healthy (organic) and tasty too.

I've seen my clones under a 1000w hps grown and the colas are huge yields are great. My next big step for PHOGS especially in this small footprint is to break the 4oz yield barrier I seem to be up against.
I am looking at some very very high end LED's particularly Hydro Grow's Extreme line I may try their SOL series if I can swing it. What I want to do is compare this Dorm Grow G8 LED 240Watt (190 watt used)
that is full spectrum and go toe to toe with something similar power draw (only real way to compare because it comes down to what can be produced based on power used) not total of LEDs ect. Perhaps my only only concern for comparing like is the assure comparing full spectrum from veg to flower comparatively or bloom only comparatively.

Anywise a person looking for great quality, low cost and good production with ease of use after initial setup should be pretty much plug and play.

Mainlined train a total of 4 plants with 24-28 viable colas out of possible 32. Gotta work on my mainlining techniques, still much to master for I am an apprentice in this area.

As I am updating now, these girls are at their 27 day of flower too. However they vegged for 16 weeks, so they are now a total of 20 weeks old and over 24 inches tall. I lollipopped the bottoms considerably in hopes of having to due less defoliation and only take very few if any. Hopefully cause only the top 8 inches of plant is flowering I won't need to or hardly any at all.

Nonetheless this is what I am getting with a Single LED rated at 240 watts drawing 140 using full spectrum 8 band verses flower, but I did add two flowering spot light leds at 12 watts each, that is 164 watts plus a couple of cfl for ambient light 2300k. So no more then a possible of 200 watts total on these four gals in a 2x3 4 inch fan and carbon filtered.

NICE CANOPY

LEANING TOWERS OF BUDS

I going to bump up light in this tent to to closer to 300 or 400 watt draw like to have 400 watts of LED penetrating these system, I sure it will significantly increase yield
So that will be PHOGS PHASE IV to retain everything in PHASE III but increase LED watts to coverage are to compare yield from same clones of Blue Cheese.

Since today if the supposed official midway point before she is supposed to be ready I have taken some pics.

I've actually recounted my approximation of total branch colas. 30 2x8 16 + 2x7 14. Of those 3 are dwarfs don't expect much possible decent nugs and couple pop corn buds, these dwarfs tops are just under the main canopy colas. Then there are mids of which I have 5 of these cola branches are midway between canopy and dwarfs. That leaves from 30 22 viable colas out of 32 (4 plants x 8 cola mainline).

So clear empirical evidence I've got to hone my crazy bonsai nija skills. BONSAI! Another factor to consider in yield outcome as with prior mainlined attempt. Not bad for second attempt at mainlining 4 gals at once, the last batch only 3 got proper training one I let go to once topped plant with two main branches.

Notice I have tied bottom right plant of 4 to stabilizer bar, now her flowering branches aren't crowding out the gal behind her and now I believe the canopy is improved no defoliation planned on this run mainlined lollipop only.

If all goes as planned this will be harvesting right near Thanksgiving... truly Holiday Cheese

PREPARE FOR FLOWERING PORN!

Damn Dank you're plants look good buddy...keep it up and keep learning man...
Thanks Riknstein.... One thing I've learned I've had more stable grows and no problems with nutrients burn or deficiencies since I've implored using a passive hydro system also more time on my hands :bigjoint:

For the energy you put into the self sustaining system itself, you are doing a phenomenal job! I'm impressed:) keep it up buddy, only one way to go from here and that's up! :)

Who me :??: Well, I will + rep if you'll + rep me.. haha.. Yeah, I like the setup. What do you think about my ladies :??:
You, ha ha LMAO, no not at all. Just so many visitors on page yet seems like majority of judgement reserved or just not sure what to think? IDK.

Just saying to anyone who digs it to go ahead and let me know!

How is the Grape God doing? Purp? I really need to look into that P3 product. Still outdoing the other?

;) I hear that. Yeah, the P3 is sure doing the Grape God up right. Couldn't believe the growth rate that it produces! The Pure Kush is still far behind the GG. Just did an update on the side by side thread w/pictures incase you'd like to check it out. Now marks day 6 flowering for those both. I plan on taking clones from each and then getting those going and taking 2 of the same and rerunning the same test to "just make sure" it isn't strain related. Which like said I highly doubt, one being because of the growth spike I seen in all my other ladies flowering after I added the P3 to those. Also my good friend and business partner is conducting the test with the P3 is seeing/having the same results.

+ rep to you on your grow bro.. Donts 4 get to + rep me on mine.. ;) Thanks 4 following my thread aswell. I went ahead & subbed up to yours! ;) On with the show bro..

Dank..
