Well when I do start my grow I surround my plant with 4-5500k cfls and 2-6500k cfls for top of plant. I grow like that until It is ready to flower then switch over to my HPS! The side lights surrounding the plants creates tons of shoots, not just a single stem straight up! Then the HPS does the rest! Which is, bush it all around, real nice!

I use to use side lighting before i got my t5 lightwave unit, did my plants real good but now i fill the whole grow area and have no where for side lights. Nice grow man, plants look female to me and any male flowers are far and few between so don't worry. Pull em off and wait it out, i am confident it will be ok. Peace

better to just grow it under the HPS from start... I never understand why people grow with cfls when the CAN grow with HPS

How would you compare the t12's to the t8's? They are monster tubes t12's, always thought you would get a lot of light but less penetration. I wish i could still get some t12's but they are a dying breed.

Still low wattage cfl's are useless, i use the bigger wattages from 125 to 250, even 125w is only good enough to veg and it dosen't provide the best area of light coverage compared to a flourescent tube.
