Pissed

A funny thing happened to me yesterday. Well, at least my wife thought it was funny... :finger:
My favorite method for mixing a large batch of dirt is to put a large heavy duty tarp on a hard flat surface, then use a rake (teeth up) to mix the ingredients.
Works great.
HOWEVER
I highly recommend that you use the dirt immediately or cover it with a second tarp that's weighed down with rocks. Why? Because I caught a cat pissing in my dirt, and found several hunks of cat shit. No doubt there's lots of piss in there so I'll go ahead and toss this batch onto the ol' recycle pile outdoors and let rain rinse it out.
Fucking kitties. :cuss: (Yeah, I know it's really my fault.)
This morning I remembered that the last time I mixed dirt this way, I had many unexpected problems with those plants. They were doing great until the final repotting with my custom mix.
Hmm... :wall:

Meow.

You're the one at fought in this. You fucked up its litter box. Lolololol
It's still out there, but it rained last night so they may leave it alone now.
Not that it matters. I can get the shit out, but the piss will fuck everything up. Too acidic, too much urea nitrogen, and probably too much sodium. It will be fine after being rinsed in the recycle pile. We are going to extend the garden this year so that's probably where the pile will end up.

ohh man.. sadly I've read and heard of many, many growers with that problem
I think good ole @MustangStudFarm was the most recent one (assuming my THC addled brain is recalling correctly), but I hear it all the time
yet another reason why I prefer dogs..
I mean I can't blame them.. when compared to a stinky litter box i'd shit all day long in a nice earth smelling soil mix too

I have to keep all my compost and soil mixes covered solely to keep out the birds and rodents that like picking out all my redworms..
which they do like crazy, some critter is getting inside my shed and digging out the soil looking for worms...
lil bastard

did ya tarp it before or after the rain?
if it was after , i'd say the urine will be alright man, just mix it all up and let it chill for a bit, and it'll be alright
if it was before than you may want to re-moisten the soil mix and give it a whiff, to see if it smells funky
but i'd say you are right on in letting it chill for another grow season.
Safest bet.

Catpiss is persistent. You can can have a marking male spraying also. It is one smell that bothers the piss out of me. If I brought that mix in the house I would smell it every waking moment and transition to nightmares after lights out.

I was letting my cat in there because I have a mouse problem in my garage and it just felt like a lose/lose situation... We have a lot of snakes around here and they follow the mice and I found some snake skin in my garage last month when I was cleaning. It wasnt a small snake either!
