pitbulls

I hate people that don't take care of their pets too. Used to have shitty neighbors years ago that had a dalmation that they left chained all year long in all kinds of weather. They had one of those stupid plastic dogloo things that is a poorest excuse for a doghouse I've seen. That dog would actually be pink in the winter from it's skin being so chapped. I don't know how they expected that dog to sleep in that little plastic piece of shit, my dogs like to stretch out on their sides to sleep. Hell my golden retriever has her own lounge type chair in the living room.

Awwwww .... Cute .... But cuteness is irrelevant. Pandas are cute too... and they are dangerous.. Platypuses are adorable but their claws release venom strong enough to kill you...

Your post is irrelevant. Pandas and platypuses are WILD animals, with no domestication at all. Pitbulls have been bred for hundreds of years, and through successful breeding they have bred out Human aggression. If your pitbull is Human Aggressive you have trained him to do so. Whether it has been direct training or basic neglect and it learns not to trust humans.Otherwise a pitbull will not bite a person. Another dog of the same gender maybe, But that goes for most breeds. If you go by statistics Golden retrievers are more dangerous than pitbulls. There temperament is lower, and much more prone to bite. It's just when a retriever bites it's an "accident", but when a pittie bites it was just a matter of time and ends up on CNN. Propaganda has you folks shook.

Animals are animals, domesticated or not. I was kinda teasing anyway... I was just pointing out the fact that looks can be deceiving. You are a fool if you think that pitbulls can't be dangerous at all just because they are domesticated... I know better than to trust any animal with sharp teeth and no remorse... I wouldn't fuck with any dog, not just a pit...

I'm not saying they're not dangerous. Any dog can be dangerous. And no Animals are not Animals. There is a difference between a domestic dog, and a wild dog. A difference between a house cat, and wild cat. It's not that I think pitbulls can't be dangerous when trained, brought up in a proper home. It's just that they wont. Big reason why pits aren't used as guard dogs, or police dogs...They simply will not bite on command. They will not bring down the assailant even when their owners are put in danger. They expect you as the alpha to protect them.Nothing attacks unprovoked. Unless it's allowed to run free, and do what it wants. If you raise anything like shit it's going to be just that...shit.

Why are you breeding dogs? The animal shelters are full to the brim with unwanted pets and you are breeding dogs?

Sorry to have to tell you, but that is a really stupid and selfish thing to do.

I was going to stud my 2 1/2 pound yorkie. So many breeders came to me and asked if I would stud him out. The money was tempting, very.
In the long run I did not do it because of all the unwanted animals at the shelter. I just could not justify doing it. To each their own though!:peace:

I'm just offended by it because the shelters where I live are turning away animals. I keep hearing that due to the mortgage mess the shelters all around the country are full.

My dog came from the dog pound (not the same as a shelter believe me, way less sanitary and at the time the dogs got 14 days and then were put down).

It just makes me wonder how many of those new puppies will end up and a shelter.

I know, dogs being left at the shelters have increased tremendously.
My yorkie is a product of abandonment, left for me to foster for a 'few weeks' I have had him going on a year now. I work at the Humanes Society down here, and I see people coming in crying about the economy all the time. It is heart breaking. I will foster in my home but it is hard...very. Some of my foster experiences have been positive and some not. I will not buy a dog, period. Everyone needs to adopt!

My Shih Tzu was found roaming the streets, he was so starved that you could feel every bone in his body. His hair was just one big mat, he had to be shaved down to the skin to get rid of them. He's a fat spoiled little guy now. I think we've had him for 2 years.

All 3 of my cats started out as stray kittens. I just can't adopt any more though. I found out I'm allergic to cats, but I won't get rid of them. I will suffer it out, pets are forever not just temporary.

I had a half pit bull for 14 years. She was the sweetest dog ever. But not all pit bulls are raised correctly.

I was in Vegas the other day.

On the news was a story about two pits bulls that came barging in the house and attacked and killed the owner's 6 month old baby.

The Grandmother was also attacked and maimed trying to save the baby.

Owner with a rolled up newspaper...
"Bad dog! Don't eat the baby! Bad dog!!"

What you and I just talked about is important for other people to know.
If anyone wants a dog but has their mind set on a pure bred, don't think you have to buy one. They come into the shelters on a daily basis. Please check with your local shelters if you are thinking of getting a pure bred, they very well may have one...I see them all the time.

You seem confident..... They won't bite on command? There is absolutely no chance it could get confused and attack for seemingly no apparent reason? Are you just generalizing the entire population of the dogs from your own pitbull? I'd rather be safe than sorry, but that's just me ...

and that's what I meant when I said I wouldn't fuck with any dog... If I was the type to mess with animals for fun, I wouldn't fuck with a domesticated dog over a wolf... Because if a domestic animal is provoked, the domestication part doesn't even exist anymore, therefore it becomes just as dangerous as a wolf... You seem like one of those people that are convinced an animal is like a human being just because it's brought up by human beings..

I don't think we're even TOTALLY on the same page with this little discussion, but it's all good. Maybe I just went too off topic with the panda/platypus comment..lol

i agree with pretty much all of the posts,if your gettin a dog from the shelter n its your first time owning a dog make sure you get one from a young age,its easier to change bad behaviour patterns,im on my 3rd rotti.........cant fit in anymore,iv had to move house cos the fatties needed a bigger garden
seriously people, rottis r lovely dogs if you dicipline them right
