Gotta odd question for you? When I look at moose I don't necessarily see him as a dog. He's just like a child with fur. lol. It's just like we connect on more than an owner/pet level. Is that weird?
I think it's weird, yes. But it's not uncommon, either.

I connect with my dogs on a primal level, and it's a heartfelt, soulful thing for me. There really truly is nothing like being out on the trail, in the middle of wilderness, and it's you and the dogs, everyone's got each other's backs kind of thing. We "feed" off of each other. But, they are always "dog" and I am always "human". You know I pretty much don't ever allow them inside, either, unless the weather is really bad (too hot or too cold). (One of the reasons why I don't prefer to have small or toy breeds.)

I feel something similar to that when I'm spending time with Sparky. He represents to me exactly what a dog should be, loving, loyal, big and strong. Whenever I'm hanging out in the yard he trots over and hangs out with me. He's a hefty boy, rottweiler/chow mix, but he doesn't show the ability to kick some ass until there's other dogs around. We don't have many doggy visitors though. He's a dog to me, but he's a damn good dog. I love him.

I used to have a golden retriever whos name was sparky. Damn good dog, until some bastards decided to poison him.

That's what my dad and I have been thinking happened to Sparky's brother Rocky. Rocky was the kinda dog that liked to get out of the yard and maim other peoples dogs. Dad kinda favored him, so he didn't do anything about it. So, I'm thinking the neighbors did it for him. We found Rocky's body one morning with blood coming out of his nose, and vomit around his carcass. Maybe he just into a fight he couldn't win that night.

I think it's kind of a shame that dad didn't put any effort into making him a better dog when he was a puppy. But dad always justified having pets by saying they were 'guard' dogs. Encouraged mean traits, gave them raw meat from time to time. Sparky just turned out nicer and well behaved. Rocky went the other way with it.

I think Rocky was poisoned. Raw meat doesn't encourage 'meanness', it just gives 'em a taste of what they like. They like guts, too. And placenta, fresh placenta. Dogs go NUCKING FUTZ over a nice, big fresh placenta. And hooves. Whenever the farrier came by so did all the neighborhood dogs. We'd Frisbee out the bits of hoof and they'd chomp 'em up.

Yes! Hooves make them go crazyyyy for some odd reason. Haha. For christmas I go to costco or some such place and get a bone about 2 feet long with tons of meat on it, that they would normally throw away, and I give it to my dog. :) He won't let it leave his sight.

I can't do butcher bones anymore because the old dog ALWAYS takes all the bones, which drives the young dog berzerk and I don't want the fighting. They have not yet settled that one dispute. And just try reasoning with an old dog. "Missy! Let Hazel have that bone so she stops chewing up my shoes! Missy!" Missy looks at me, balefully, and proceeds to gather up the bones and put them by the dog house they share, then plops down on top of them. Hazel has one bone chip that she plays with, I can hear it at night clattering down the driveway, clattering on the front porch.

Yeah, hooves are good shit.

Haha. One time I got all excited because I had just picked up a half ounce of some really dank bud and I set it on my table outside stupidly while i went inside to grab my pipe and get my food ready for a few minutes. (Im too lazy tomake food when im high. hehe) So i come back out a few minutes later and my buds are gone! My dog had carried them away and was eating them furiously! I was soo pissed at him, but i will still able to get about 6 grams he didn't eat. :/

Who cares what they were originally used for. Look at where the breed has come today.

If you read all my posts you would've noticed I never denied the fact that they are CAPABLE of being dangerous. What im saying is, they dont just lose it and there are lots of myths about these dogs.

I chose a pit because my past experiences with pits. They're loyal and loving and I've never seen any signs of aggression come from any of my dogs or my friends pits.

IT IS about how you raise them, and they're not just loose cannons.

PS: Stoverdro, the tire was a chew toy and the dog probably loved it. As far as hanging from a tree my dog hangs from a rope all day long. Its probably his favorite exercise.

PSS: I raised both my dogs. The second guy, Brutus, was going to be used for dog fighting. He is a complete sweet heart and a huge lover. In my opinion, aside from his hunting capability and strength, hes a big pussy.
I actually owned a yellow lab and the dog was fucking retarded.
I guess it really is how YOU raise them, lol.

My dog Coco is sick .. She hasn't been eating for the past few days. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow., but I'm thinking about blowing her some smoke to make her eat something... I wonder if weed gives animals munchies... She has never had weed before... So I hope it doesn't just make her feel worse.

Has anyone ever had an experience like this with their dog? I'm probably gonna do it regardless, but I'd like to hear it if anyone has ever had a sick dog and gave it weed to help... Coco has some respiratory problems, do you think it would worsen that?

You can give a little bit of caffine free Coke or Pepsi... It will make her belly feel better and get some sugar and carbs in her... That may stimulate her appetite.

That doesn't sound like a very great idea.. I'm not really doubting that it would work, but I don't wanna take the chance on something I'm not sure about. I don't think dogs are supposed to have sugar.. and whatever else there is in the hundreds of ingredients soda has.

not a problem!;-) pits have one of the best immune system of any other dog. there soldiers so dont stress;-)
I don't have a pit ... lol .... I have a beagle.
