Planning on using coco for first grow - advice for nutrients?

I'll be using coco as a grow medium for my first shot at this, I understand it as somewhat of a hybrid technique between hydro and soil growing. I was wondering what nutrients would be good to use and when for this type of grow medium. I'd also like to keep things as natural as possible, meaning I'd like to stay away from seriously manufactured nutrients such as petro-derived nitrogen fertilizers. A less time intensive strategy is preferred (watering/feeding not more than twice a day if possible). My goal is great tasting buds and high yield, but I'm not in a rush to get there so I don't mind using less potent nutrients if it will improve the yield/taste of the final harvest.

Should I use straight coco or should I mix with soil / add perlite / etc. ?

Thanks!

i recommend gh grow, micro, and bloom in a concentrated liquid. you can use it every second or third time you water you plants and as diluted as you want.

Im haveing great success useing dutch master gold in a 100% coco grow.

All nutrients should work just know that when growing with coco extra magnesium and calcium might need to be added but thats simple to do with an additive like cal-mag or just plain epsom salt.

You can add pertlite but soil isnt reccomended since coco is meant to be used only with other soiless mediums.

I use no pertlite just coco with clay pebbles on the bottom and a layer on the top to keep algea/mold from growing.

I have been watering every 3 days with nutrients. I water them slowly with a 1/4 tube thats syphoning nutes from a bucket placed higher. I keep watering till the water comeing out of the bottom starts comeing out in a stream not just dripping out.

I havent had any over watering problems at all. I plan to water every other day when they get a little bigger.

Make sure you flush your coco well before useing it. Some coco has a high salt content.
Im useing Botanicare Cocogro Bricks and they dont have much salt if any. I just flush it with hot water then let it dry a little and soak it in ph 5.5 water.
After that i drain the coco in a 5 gallon bucket with small holes in the bottom then i push the coco down to get most of the moisture out so i can fluff it as i put it in my pots.

Good luck with your grow hope the info helped :eyesmoke:
