Plant Flush

Howdy. Just wondering when is a good time to start flushing. Saturday will be the finish of week 9. Flipped plants 4 weeks ago roughly. They're stacking nicely and hairs are about 30% orange, trichomes are still clear but building like crazy. I know the method is typically 80% amber before chopping but just need an idea of at what point I should stop giving nutrients and begin straight PHd water. Thanks everyone

well if you start flushing them, they will stop growing, so buds wont thicken up so much.

For sure. I use FF trio and cal mag. You think a good level is cut it down to ½ strength of my current feed and then possibly a ¼ the last week?

your asking the wrong person, i don't flush, but doing your method will be better then starving/flushing your plants. yes

Your plants are only 4 week into 12/12?

You’re too early to be think about flushing. IF you decide to flush, it’s in the days or a week before harvest. You’re likely many weeks from that. Ignore sellers time tables. Or plan to add several weeks. Pics help a lot! Let’s see where you are.

This is the stage in the plants life where you should be feeding the maximum before burn to stack on the weight. On average you have 5 weeks left at least. When you get to the end dont flush, you can use just water the week or 2 and then just dry and cure properly.

I think you are confusing hairs and trichs. some people say 80% of hairs to change brown and recede and some say 30% amber trichs, 80% amber may be over ripe, if you could even get there

Alright so we've established pretty well that flushing, for the most part, is anecdotal. In fact most people here as opposed to most forums, frown upon or oppose doing it.

My 2 cents as a coco grower. ... I went back to doing a 3 to 5 day flush for the sole purpose of some final bag appeal colorwise, that's it. I see no other benefits flavorwise, trichome coverage-wise or anything.

Read the plants, not human timetables. Have patience at this time. Back down the nutrients until your just giving water as it nears the end. Dont pull them too soon. As mentioned the last few weeks its still packing on weight.

they are week 4 12/12

Last 2 weeks cut back on fertilizer. 2 weeks before harvest cut back 25%. The week before harvest, cut fertilizer back another 25%. Works for me anyway.
