Just don't make the mistake of doing too much. Find yourself one journal or guide and stick with it for your first grow. If you go compiling ideas and techniques from 100 some odd people it's a surefire recipe for failure.

bro i feel you lol, ive had people tell me my light isint good enough, but i just checked the CFL subforum and my light is more than enough for what i need it. i was also told tin foil is no good... yet people are using almost exactly the same materials in their growboxes. i think everyone grows so different you cant even really take anyones advice. this shit is getting confusing.

I hear ya bro but just get an outline of the whole idea and use just pointers is what i am doing going with my gut aswell trial and error

yeah i've yet to buy seeds so anything i get from these plants will probably be shitty. this is just a learning experiance before i put money into it. cause i can get good bud anytime i want. i have big bud and bush doctor right now lol

There's a lot of misinformation floating around. I use tin foil because of the way my CFLs are hanging (they need a reflective surface to the sides and top of them) and I have YET to experience any kind of hot spots on my plants.

In essence, the things that have been keeping me on the road to success has been: having enough lights/lumens, discovering when and how much to feed the plants, and just overall loving what i'm doing. The plants can feel the love, no doubt

i feel like my plants were getting even light all the way around when i had the foil and now they seem to be all weak looking on the sides but healthy at the top.

With CFLs you need to keep them close to the proximity of the plants. By proximity it doesn't mean just at the top. If you just have them a inch, a few inches, from the tops, then your tops will grow much fuller than the bottoms and sides. If you want the sides to perk up, then you need to hang a light near them as you would the tops. THIS is the reason why SCRoG is so popular with CFLs

k so you said your 3 weeks in from seed? havent grown too much from seed but dont seedlings normally take 4-5 weeks to get into a full veg state?not sure but that tho. and the 2 plants in 1 pot could stunt/kill eachother just a fyi you may wanna seperate em before their roots tangle. more light never hurts can always try more light and if they dont take off like bats outta hell after a week then you know its something else? was having the same issue with some babies i had upped the lights and theyve grown like 2 ft in 4 weeks

i figured that, i've been adjusting my light a lot but theres only so much i can do with limited space and the light being so big

and just read through and it says ure using a 2700k bulb for your veg, 2700k is more into the red spectrum you want a 6500k bulb that leans more towards the blue i mix mine i use 2 red bulbs and 6 blues you also have 5000k bulbs which are full spectrum and good but they produce alot of green light which is basically wasted energy since the plants dont use green light to photosynthesize just some info ive picked up reading books maybe it will be helpful to you

i just found a fan in my basement. as far as the two plants those have been in that pot since i planted them. those were my original experiment. if i have to kill them i will, i have 6 seedlings growing outside and another plant i'm doing outside.
