plants dying/yellowing during flower (pics)

During veg the plants remain pretty green, some yellowing but not too much. During the flowering cycle the leaves become yellow or brown and die quickly leaving me with sad looking fluffy buds. i have 2 1000w lights for flower and a bunch of cfl bulbs for veg. I'm certain they get enough light. temps are good and stay around 76. gh organic nutrients used at half strength from directions on the bottle. Reverse Osmosis water. Medium is 4 parts black gold soil 1 part vermiculite. Plants need water about once a week. I have a 400cfm fan for exhaust that pulls air through about 20 feet of ducting with a charcoal scrubber on the end. Intake air is a 200 cfm inline duct fan from home depot.

You can see the new plants that have been flowering only for a few days are still green and somewhat healthy then the other pics are 7 weeks flowering and looking very sad.

Could poor air ventilation be my problem?

PH is probably a little high ill check that and repost.

Maybe more vermiculite for better drainage?

Is it too much light in flower room shocking the plants?

With those leaves all twisted and shriveled like that, I am going to go out on a limb and suggest you may of given them far too many bloom foods.. Phosphorus burn perhaps.. Others who have done something like this, may have a better take.

I am also going to go out on a limb, and suggest next round, keep feeding veg foods until AFTER the onset of healthy flowering and THEN switch to your bloom foods.. but obviously only a 10th of what you have been doing or so. maybe even literally..


Remember though, I am just guessing..

vermiculite holds water it doesnt allow for drainage.If you are using RO water you must make sure it is PHed with cal mag added back in to it.The soil must be treated with garden lime to maintain its PH.You could be but not probable from what i see be over feeding.There are several things going on at one time.start with garden lime found at lowes or mennards . for like 5 bucks for a 40 lb bag..sometimes they call it dolomite lime on this site it ajusts ph in soil and adds calcium,work it into the top soil of your plants.RO water likes to have a low PH. so it must be set to around 7 for dirt.start flushing the lime into the soil.It appears you have severe cal mag deficiency and PH lock out. Use the garden lime at about 2 coffee cups per 4 large bags of dirt..about 4 or 5 table spoons for your planter size should be enough.

Thanks for the input. I do use cal mag nutrients always. i dont have a soil ph meter but the water is 7.1 before adding nutes. I meant perlite not vermiculite, sorry my mistake.

Nutes willcausee your 7.1 ph to drop to acidic levels. You can get drops and a color chart for around 12.00. Always adjust your ph when adding nutrients. As an aside your plants look like shit but I see some decent bud on the 7 weeker.

I agree with some of the comments that suggest over fertilization. Even your little guys look suuper green.
I use between 50-70% of what the manufacturer suggests. I've gotten the best results using the least total nutrient.
When I started growing I was of the mind that more fert= bigger plants/buds. Its just not true.
Each strain is different, so it varies, But I would recommend you try easing back and see how they do in 2 weeks.
Try it with your little guys too. The bud will be sweeter, more aromatic. You'll never taste that chemically taste ..on your tong.

I'm using the General Organics line of nuts and it says adjusting PH in not necessary. I've started to pull back on the Nutes and i'm feeding half with out adjusting PH and the other half adjusted to 6.7-6.8. if anyone has done this or knows more about the General Organics and whether or not to adjust PH please let me know.

If you have a little money to spend try this https://www.rollitup.org/organics/539844-subs-supersoil.html it is worry free and all you do is water till flower, and I use Humboldt Organics very sparingly cause I top off my pots with another 4 or so inches of supersoil...good luck and I started just like you...and with-in a few months of using subs supersoil my results where this...

I think im gonna do Hydro next but good tut on supersoil. I dont have problems until a few weeks into flowering though. great looking plants too.
