Please advise on LED Lighting

Realistically. You can grow one or two plants around 30"-35" high. The light will need to be set close. The actual wattage is half of what's advertised. If it's not kept close, you risk growing fluffy airy buds. Kept close it will produce decent weed. I've used a couple of 300 watt LEDs before. I'd recommend the following distances. (Your mileage may vary)

Sprouts, 25".

Seedlings, 20".

Early flower, 15"

Late flower, as close as 8-10".

What makes you think the wattage is half of whats advertised? Its got 30 ten-watt led diodes.. Not that im saying your wrong, i dont mess with led much, but it seems like thats actual wattage to me. Also i believe the most efficient led diodes are 3 watt diodes.
You can cover a square foot with 30 watts of led. Depending on the size plants you grow and your method you can grow more than 2.. I understand some ppl only grow bushes but you cant really put a plant count on a light. You could scrog 1 plant under 1000 watt or sog 100

Youd probably do better if you found out how much space you want to grow in and made a thread in indoor growing under led and other lighting asking for recommendations on well priced, reliable leds that will cover your space. It is hard to choose leds because as petflora clearly knows some are great as advertised and some are just shitty. Spectrums in led grow lights have to be very specific and some of the makers dont seem to care.

Leds are run softly usually at 50% of their max... It has 30 x 10 watt diodes run at 5 watts.. This is where the manufacturers
muddy the led waters.. False and misleading ..

In this case is 30 watts per square foot right for actual wattage or is it 15 and everyone says 30 due to the way they display wattage?

You need to go with actual wattage used... 30 watts psf is a good starting point for veg..
40-50 watts psf really makes nice buds.. Just made the switch a year ago, still learning how to use them
to their full potential..

Thanks man!! I need to switch. Its hot out here so hps is not ideal. But from what i read led uses less than hps per square foot.. From what ive found 40 watts per square foot hps is right for flowering. I use a 400 over 11 square feet with great results, so 36 watts per square foot, but i also use a tent with very good mylar. I thought a large part of led was saving power?

You can save power by using less wattage or you can increase yields by using the same wattage.. Some people run super efficient diodes very soft and also very close to the canopy..While others run the diodes much harder and much further away.. It comes down to grower preference.. The technology is constantly changing... I started with 6 cobs @ 300 watts to replace a 400 watt hps in 10 sft.. It definitely did that and then some.. But I figured what the hell let's see what happens if I add two more cobs and take it to the same wattage as my hps... Just getting this run started, have my light dimmed to 240 watts for early veg.. We'll see what happens...

I'm a first time grower also. And I purchased a blurple light. Viparspectra 600 reflector series. I'm not winning any awards with bud weight but I was pleased with its outcome. I had 4 autos that I put under the LED at week five. The plants were started from seed under cfl's and didn't change till week 5 to LED. That being said I did everything wrong from over watering to giving to many nutes and probably the wrong kind of nutes. I harvested early to avoid any "couch lock" they could have went a week or so more. My space is 3x2.... I still got 4.5 oz dried of great weed. Knock your fucking socks off high! So for this first time grower.... I'm happy with my square blurple light for now

Cool, let me know what you think of the light. What does it drawl ? Watts?
I think the 600 would work for ya in your 2x2. That light spread isn't great, manufactures specs I would say are way off. Good luck on finishing this grow and starting fresh on the next one.
