Please help,clone assistance??

I am currently almost 3 weeks into flowering I have two strains that I am really happy with and I have identified them as beautiful females. I have already chopped the males down. I always cut off the lower branches of my girls so that more of the energy can be devoted to the top colas! I have decided to use those lower branches for cloning. This will be my first go cloning.I have never cloned before. I do not have a separate room for vegetative and flowering?I only have one grow space and currently those lights are set for flowering.I have invested in a small Flourescent setup to maintain my clones until i can successfully harvest My crop.I will move the clones into my main room after harvest! What I would like to know is when im 2to 3 weeks away from harvesting I would like to trim the lower branches and to clone them!Since I am happy with the strain and I already know that they are female, is it ok to clone from a flowering plant that's that close to harvest? They are the lower branches that aren't producing very much anyway? I am very new to the cloning process and Ive always started my ladies from seed, but frankly I'm very tired of ending up with more males than females and I finally found a strain that I am happy with! Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

They will take longer to root and return to veg state.
And when they do return to veg if the plant has a tendency to hermi there will be a high chance of that and some deform new growth.

Iv taken clones from 2 weeks in and 4 weeks in. Both have rooted. The 4 weeks in ones took a week to show roots where the 2 week in ones only took 3 days to show roots.

3 days to root? Wow, that's a record I believe...
It doesn't matter how long it takes to root with reveg/monster cropping is the term for what you are going to attempt...the problem is that it takes about a month for it to revert back to veg and start growing new nodes etc. you should take the clones now. Literally, I can keep my clones rooting in the bathroom? Lol or a windowsill? They just need 24 hours of light, no real intensity at all

I have fairly good strains,I just recently had the spider mite issue that took quite a bit to clean up and get under control! The little pests did quite a bit of damage and once the issue was resolved my girls snapped back and are very healthy right now so I don't think they have the Hermie gene in them!Thank you very much for the advice I really appreciate it!

I am currently waiting for the rooting hormone and my fluorescent hood should be here in the next 3 to 7 days and I am going to start right away

You can try to take clones from your flowering plants but there is another option that might increase chances of success. Wait until you harvest your currently flowering plants and then leave some bottom growth on one or 2 of your strongest plants to revert back to veg. You can reveg them by leaving a couple of the lower branches on the plant with a few sets of sun leaves intact & just snip off the buds. Flip the lights back to 18/6 & in about 3 weeks you'll have a vegging mother plant again - you can keep this mother in veg indefinately if you want or flower her out again after taking as many clones as you need.

No. You don't take clones from a flowering plant. You should take them before it goes into flower if you do not have a mother. You take clones off a plant in veg.
