Please Help!!Hydro Steal Cab 180w CFL Pink Salad Auto 1st Grow..

hello peeps,

first grow 2ft stealth cab hydro set up,PH 6, 7 days from sprout, pink salad auto,at the moment got 3 60w CFL blue spectrum when I get into flower will switch to three 60w bloom bulbs. By the way can't seem to get the photos I post to not come up horizontal atm any help there would also be appreciated  Looks like everything is going well, apart from the fact one of my plants seems to have lime green veins and the new little leaves look like they are also growing lime green?? The rest of the plants are fine, do I need to change the res every week? Also the plant with the veins is the only one that has a serious taproot, the others are just poking out the bottom, would have thought they would have grown more by now? I'm doing a 24hr constant light cycle, no sleep for these girls :hump:

Looks like you are off to a good start, but there are some things you need to tweak before you get further into this growing your own. Go get yourself another tote the same size that you have now. Reason why, look at that 2nd photo, that lid looks like it is almost transparent. This not good for your roots when they come out of those grow blocks. Lights make plants grow and it also makes algae grow in your res. This will cause you a lot of trouble if you don't do anything about. Paint the other tote black, cover it with duct tape, just make it light proof. Paint the lid white or cover it with mylar. Just make sure the roots aren't exposed to the lights.
Get your tote closer to the bulbs, just plain and simple. I'd also put that air pump outside of the box. Once the plants get to growing, you are going to get really crowed in there with 6 net pots, especially if they all do well. Get yourself a small fan to blow across the plants, it makes the stem stronger. I'd move the computer fan to the top of the and use a passive intake. I am assuming that green screen below the lights is a DIY carbon filter.
I see that they are autos, so what kind of light cycle are you using through out the grow? 24hr is what some use or 20/4 or 18/6. I guess it is whatever you chose. Some places around the world get a max of 15 hrs of sun. With that being said, I decided to go 18/6 just to give them a rest. Read through the forums here and see what everyone else is using.

These are some of my thoughts, observations, ideas or advice. Read some more and ask more questions. Good luck on your grow.

You are growing in hydro, your ph should be 5.8 optimal, you should also have a tds meter to keep track of the ppm's of your nutes, seems that your seedlings may be hungry or your ph is off, both are important for hydro, best of luck, also you may want to get better lights.

@Maxed out - right didn't think of the transparency and the light hitting the roots, will fix that. will also try and source some light extensions to get the bulbs closer to the plants, the power bar and air pump are fixed into the cab so I cant really move them without disassembling the whole cab, also kinda defeats the stealth element of things.. yeah under the green screen is a extraction fan and carbon filter. I'm using a 24hr light cycle because of the distance from the seedlings atm. will it stress the plants if I start letting them rest for 4hrs further down the line? @Strax - yes ill be sure to take all pics landscape from now on, they are 60w actual bulbs@DeeTee - Due to the space I have I cant fit the bigger CFL bulbs in there, ill see what I can do if I get the screw in light extension. do you know if they are the E27 socket? im also a little worried about heat issues, don't want to start a fire. going to buy a electronic ph meter tomorrow, in regards to nutes I heard you wernt supposed to feed auto's for 2 weeks? Thanks for the advice will update further down the line..

Also in regards to the space issue, I don't know why I just have this feeling that these auto's are going to stay comically short. Also the Pink Salad auto's are supposedly only reach under 2ft tall with yields of 15-30g per plant. I somewhat doubt I'll be hitting that but we shall see..
