Root Aphids. Nematodes might quell them but I would first try a heavy dusting of diatomaceous earth. They won't like living there for long and neither will the gnats. Get a bag of DE and a powder duster and your pest issues will be gone. Add a layer of mulch to keep the top dry without drying out the soil. Dust that shit.
Those are definitely not soil mites; sorta look like fleas. They feast on eggs and larvae of gnats and aphids; born from compost. They won't live long inside of a bag of ewc and them there Unco worms are fed mostly just shredded paper. Cannot beat ewc fresh from the worms ass. When I scoop up a new tray of vermicompost mites start jumping around like a fuckin flea circus. One landed right in my mouth once; tasted like dirt.
A worm factory 360 might benefit your grow in more ways than nematodes could. Nothing ups your soil game to baller status like free worm castings for life.

I actually have DE powder but not a powder duster. How should I apply it? I always use a tad bit too much and and it becomes a sludgey cakey mess

You can get by just sprinkling it on by hand and having it all splotchy in patches but look up powder dusters on Amazon. Really helps distribute the DE more evenly and makes a fine cloud of dust that is deadly to gnats and whatever else procreates on soil.

I'd prefer I duster Im having it delivered tomorrow. So just dust a layer on top of the soil and mix it in? What about the bottom of the pot and sides and all that? Also is it safe to say I should do this on every plant? This plant was in a tent with 9 other ones so should they all get the same treatment

Also how should I feed them after applying? Isn't it true that the DE isn't really effective when it's wet

Works well with a mulch like straw or bark nuggets but that's not a requirement. You don't have to mix it in; water will wash it down deeper. You can spray the duster all over everything if you need to even the leaves. Water the plants before the first time you put it on so the DE kinda sticks to everything. The next watering will wash it all into the soil. Re-apply as needed. DE is a good source of silica once broken down. Works better dry against gnats but a quick squeeze to re-apply is all that's needed if it gets wet. Don't worry about putting too much on. Prevention is key. Feed as normal. Do all your plants this way it cannot hurt them.

lol, what? for the other 1% of people who aren't high out of their fcking minds they are root aphids.
I said they were root aphids. There wasn't any info to go off of originally. I was the first who said root aphids after he explained. Clearly you can read the thread.

Hey guys i found the same mites in my house plants and isolated one, covered it in DE so that it's stop running so damn fast and then took pictures and a video, let me know what you think. Also, it was unaffected by the DE and kept exploring my desk after this. Thanks for your input!
