please help me set up my ventilation in my cabinet

So i just built this cabinet because i couldn't find 1 online with the dimentions i wanted, and ive been trying to figure up how to set up my ventilation.

My first idea was to cut a 6 inch hole in the right side of the cabinet and run the ducting through it to the exhaust fan that pumped it into a carbon filter.... So in other words.... cooltubetube>>ducting>>>>>>>fan>>filter

Then i bumped into...

https://www.texashydroponics.com/sho...cat=222&page=1

and

https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/58871-2-minute-cheap-easy-carbon.html

SO.... should I attach THAT to he empty side of my cooltube instead and have the fan pull the air filter>cooltube>>>>>ducting>fan??

Having said that...I was thinking of having a passive intake.
My plan was to drill a 3 inch or so diameter hole in the left side of the cabinet somewhere close to the bottom and have an L shaped PVC pipe.

400 w hps cooltube, 480 cfm inline fan with speed contoller, hydrofarm ducting
the dimentions are 20 inches deep 41 inches wide and 40 inches tall

Please help!! any input is much appreciated

Yea I would say go with filter>cooltube>ducting>fan with the fan on the side of the box pulling in a straight line. Put the intake on the lower opposite side of where the air enters the filter. I've also seen a DIY on here where they make "carbon filter pillows" kinda... but you can just stuff those into ducting or even the cooltube opening.

thx man thats what i was leaning towards myself.... do you have any suggestions on light proofing? the doors close pretty flush but they still have tiny gaps.. here is what it looks like, view from the topIMG_0137.jpg

I light proofed my box by caulking the edges and then I have a 99% light tight curtain (walmart ~$10) that I velcro around the door.
Hope that helps.

u could allways have the fan and filter on the outside ? i personaly do it filter cooltube fan but space will be important to ya at sometime during the grow and the less stuff u av in there the better ! i allso agree with blimey that ur duct should be straight iff poss because u have urs on a 90% bend wheres what would of been better would run it straight this way u get the best from ur fan with minimal loss of suction if there is no or little amount of bends, and u could easilly use the whole u allready cut for the outtake u cud use as a intake n directly above it ( preferably ) opposite side from the outtake so ur cooltube duct ( straight line ) out ur box fan/ filter/.
that way u get the best out of ur fan and in a little space u will need all that heat extracted u can get so no bends = better suction plus having filter n fan on the outside will give u the extra room for bud ! good look man, the box looks gr8 and blimey as advised u well as thats how i do it but in ur case with room bein of importance this way would be best ! peace !
