Please help! My plants are dying and I don't know why.

Hey all,

I am a first time grower with 4 plants. Everything was great until a few days ago. My 2.5 week old plant went from perky to wilted in 3 days. The only thing that has changed in that time is that I put in 2 additional 18" florescent lights vertically in the grow cabinet. Could that harm my plants somehow?

The first image is my 2.5 week old plant a few days ago and the next picture is the plant now.

The additional photos are of my other plants in their current state. The 2 bigger plants are just over a month old but still rather small I think.

The bigger 2 were potted in FFOF the younger 2 in a mix of FFOF and Happy Frog. All of yhem are in smart pots on an 18/6 light cycle. I have not fed them any nutes but I do Ph the water to about 6.5 and the runoff tests at about 7. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What's the temperature after adding the extra lights?

What's the temperature of the water you pour to them?

The temp stays between 75 and 78 with the lights on. I actually store the water in the cabinet with the plants to help with humidity and ensure the water stays the same temp.

As Dark as those plant's are, your soil must be pretty hot. If your feeding, stop. If you have Chloramine in your local water, sitting out won't get rid of it. https://www.fs.fed.us/t-d/pubs/html/05231301/05231301.html
No Chloramine in the water. The city decided against it back in 2012. The 2 bigger plants are potted in FFOF and the smaller 2 are potted in a mix of FFOF and Happy Frog. I have not fed them anything but water.

Fox Farms Ocean Forest can run hot but thats not likely the problem. Those plants look horribly underwatered to me but thats just an opinion. The new lighting may raise the temps a degree or so but shouldn't cause that. However , raising the temps and or light intensity and being underwatered will cause this. Measuring run off isnt necessary but tell me, have you thoroughly soaked those plants/soil ever or have you just been watering a little every other day or so? Good chance that "soil" is mostly dry in the middle and the water is running through rather than absorbing into the medium. The finings in bagged mixes can be quite hydrophobic at first.

When I water them, I do get a good amount of moisture that comes from the bottom of the smart pot but I also get a good amount seeping out from the sides about halfway down the pot. I tried giving them a really good watering yesterday and 2 of them sprung back up but the little ones are looking pretty dire.

Unfortunately that can happen when they are small , perhaps being too dry for too long and in FFOF but I bet if you keep them out of the intense light and keep them watered especially the struggling one's they will come back.

Thanks man, I have rewatered the 2 that are looking the worst today. I gave a little water to one of the bigger ones because it was drooping again but the other big one is perky as hell. So that one definitely sprung back.
