Please help need help, new grower!!!

I currently am running a 4 x 4 x 6 1/2 foot tent with a 600hps bulb all air cooled. It is being cooled with a 6" inline can fan and then ducting vents it out the tent and out of where the dryer use to vent out side. My question and seems like problem is how extremely hot it is in there I'm pretty sure 78 to like 85 is what they say is ok but im at 83 to 85 all the time. ive got the humidity under control it sits at about 50%, which I read was good for veg which happens to be the stage im in. why is the heat so high? is this heat ok ?

Yeah, they like it a little cooler around 75, but I wouldn't worry too much marijuanna is a pretty resilient plant. Try not to let it get over 85, imto the 9ps and your going to have some heat stress. Try adding another fan, or using a cool mist humidifier if you arent already using one.

A 600w puts out a lot of heat.
Do I understand correctly that you have a fan bringing air in but no extractor to remove the hot air?

ya I guesse you could say that my fan is mounted on the out side of tent, ducting conected to it it is pushing the air through the tent and through my light then ducting exits it out the tent and out side the house. I do not have my filter hooked up yet but is this the proper way I have been told two things that you should pull air through but I also heard you should be pushing instead.

I currently am running a humidifier it works great but I heard more fans in the tent would just move hot air around is that true

A fan inside is definitely recommended, it helps circulate air and strenghtens the stems of your plants.
IMO pushing air through the fan is not as effective as pulling.

Make sure your intake is in the bottom of the tent, and the exhaust is at the top. Heat rises.
