Please help with ROOT ROT

Im in a N.F.T. hydro system. Everything was going great, was just about to flower and then I got root aphids. I took them out with Bayer and now am trying to get the girls to recover but they have root rot. I am giving them Revive and Zone with their nutes to try to help. Any advice on what I can do? Would pulling out the rotten roots help new ones grow?

I just had a root rot issue in my aeroponic system. the top of the plants looked great but the roots were fucked. it was week 3 budding and they looked like they weren't even 7 days into budding.

i had to scrap the entire table because i did not catch it for a LONG time. Ive heard remove ur plants from the system and pull off any dead roots/wash them with a water/h202 mix until as much of the rot is off as possible.

if hot res temps are a issue starting using h202 but remember you cant use organic nutes with it. its possible to still harvest but idk how good it would be in comparison.

I havent used any h202. I was kind of under the impression Dutch Masters Zone had the same effect. Im gonna change the water tomorrow should I get some h202? Whats the best recipe

damn bro, hope u don't have aphids! i battled them for 6months and lost. scraped everything and started over. don't use h202 just stick with zone. what you using for nutes and additives? keep it real simple and don't use any organics.

H202 is just a band aid....You need to figure out the real root of the problem lol...When I did NFT I had the same exact problem as you and all I did was cooled the res to about 69-70 and bam problem solved. Freeze a a few 2-liters and throw them in there. Good Luck

Another thing to look into is alot of nft tube alllow light in even a slight glow is no good, keeping light out of the res to!
Using a tea will kill every bit of root rot! And give bennys to your plants, h202 is like above post a band aid! And
Provides 0 bennys

Im gonna try to lower the temps from 74 to 70 hope the chiller can handle it. I also think I have some small light leaks and will try to address those when I go see the girls in a couple hours. Hoping for the best a lot of $ invested. What kind of tea should I be brewing? and how much?

thanks guys

how would you guys consider h202 a band aid when it kills all the pathegens in the system like chlorine does? in my opinion its a good preventative measure plus it adds oxygen. i already know you think the tea is better hellrazor but im just saying. the extra oxygen h202 adds will allow the plants to take in more nutes too which can increase yield and prevent pythium. it doesnt seem like a band aid to me thats all im saying

When using h202 your res is sterile, leaving nothing there to protect against a outbreak only you adding every three day
To stay on top, iff you run out or forget to add or your shop run out! Your screwed and bad bactiria will take over worse
Than without ever using h202, plus i would go bleach over h202 theres better results and way cheaper 7 bucks worth will
Last a year!

Now with tea you can forget to add and well nothing will happen! Plus your adding bennys to your roots and adding to plant
Growth, juicy roots = juicy fruits! :)

If adding air to your water is the reason to pic h202 why not add air stone :)

and why do you consider bleach different in any way? that only lasts in the water a day or 2 just like h202. the thing that i dont understand is the only thing a plant is supposed to need to be totally healthy is nutrients so could you explain your mind frame when you say "iff you run out or forget to add or your shop run out! Your screwed and bad bactiria will take over worse Than without ever using h202". please explain what you mean by that cause it doesnt make sense to me cause i dont wanna add beneficials anyway even without using h202. and just to add you can add beneficials like hygrozyme etc as long as theres nothing alive in it. so i can add the whole advanced nutrient program even if its organic that is except parahna, tarantula, sensizyme, and voodoo. i dont just have to use nutes only. you seem like you know your stuff so i just want to pick your brain a little about this

Have benaficial bactiria in your res protects your water from bad bactiria!
Using bleach is better because it takes longer for the bad to re colonize
Your res! Both these are just proventive methods and leave your res completly
Open to attack! When you forget to add see using bleach or h202 only works
If your addig on time every three days. Where with tea you can go a week
Letting you the grower have a life outside your grow! When i switch to tea
My root started growing like crazy and my yields went up to! Much more
Healthy plants!

hellraizer i hear what your saying and i understand you think tea is better but your acting like if someone doesnt use any beneficials than o my god the whole crop is doomed. alot of people dont use beneficials and there crop is totally fine would you agree with that? im just taking a guess but probably most people dont use beneficials. so what im saying is if i dont use beneficials would you then agree that adding h202 decreases the chances of getting root rot? just forget about the tea in this discussion for right now if you could cause im talking about something else

Yes you are right ( if) you dont want to use tea then yes you can use either to provent issue, im on the side of bleach if i
Had to chose, ive used both for years before i went to tea! Andwith h202 i still had issue and found myself using 300ml
To dose 55gals every three day times that by 3 because i had three 55 gal res tanks = 900ml every three days and this
Is why i went to bleach! And it work awsome

what % h202 were you using 29%? so you still had issues using the 300ml or did you have to up it to 300ml and then everything was fine? did you only switch to bleach because of money alone or did you notice it worked better? i figured alot of people go with the bleach because of the money aspect not because its better so thats why im asking
