Hey thanks for the posts guys, I have been using the 3 step fox farms nutes. My first grow my babies got nutrient burn, I toned it down to once a week with nutes and the rest bottled water, but I think Im gonnna go straight water now and see if that helps. When it says to flush with fresh water, does that mean use more water than normal to flush or just same water same volume. thanks again guys.

Its not how often you give your plants nutrients that you need to worry about. Its how strong of a mixture your nutrients are compared to your water that often leading to nute burns. It would seem it would be a good idea to only give them water for the next feeding, although id be more concerned about my ventilation. maybe tape some bags to your windows and open your closet door for a couple days. Also over watering cause it. I feed my plants om a 20 gal pot about 2 qts of water/nutes every 2 sometimes 3 days( I dont fert every time either). thats seems like a little but your plants ability to uptake nutrients and water will increase.

If the tips are curling under you have a magnesium deficiency. This is pretty common if you're growing inside. Calcium and salt buildup from nutes and your water supply cause this problem. To fix it, flush your pots with enough water to completely fill the pots about 5 or 6 times. Just use your tap water, because bottled water is going to cost too much. After you do this, add 1 tablespoon of Epson Salts to one gallon of water. Water each plant (after they dry out from flushing them - about 2 - 3 days), with 1/2 a gallon of the Epson salt water. Do this for about 2 or 3 times, then hit them with about 1 tablespoon of Big Bloom in a gallon of water, 1 1/2 cups each plant twice a week for a week. Then resume your normal feeding schedule. NEVER feed according to the bullshit schedules on the product label! Start with 2 tablespoons of Big Bloom in a gallon of water, and give each plant about 1 cup every third watering. Then when they're 3-4ft tall, add 1 teaspoon of Grow Big, with two tablespoons of Big Bloom every 3rd or 4th feeding. If the tips start to curl, back off and just use water. When blooming, use 2 tablespoons of Big Bloom, and 1 teaspoon of Tiger Bloom every third water. Smaller amounts of nutes will yield much better results. The Fox Farm people just want you to use more of their product. They don't give two shits if you burn your plants!

I would not do what critical eater said. I wouldn't flush them like that and i wouldnt nute them right away. Just get them more ventilation and "flush" them by just giving them straight water instead of water and nutrients on your next feeding. Flushing plants like that ruins their ability to uptake future water and nutrients. This method should really only be used in dire circumstances. Dont put any salts in your soil ever. Doing this will burn your plants every time you give them nutrients

Sorry, but this is how to fix it. And flushing gets rid of salt build up from nutrients, so yes, they DO uptake nutrients like they're supposed to after you do this. And if you don't use the Epson salts, you'll have dead plants within a few days from the magnesium deficiency. By day two or three you'll see new growth and the dead spots quit forming. The Epson salts aren't going to burn his plants. If you've never had this problem and treated it, I wouldn't try to give advice. It works. Deal with it.

This is why it works. Hard tap water has an abundance of calcium. Epson salts only has magnesium in it. They quit making CalMag after people realized you can't have a calcium AND magnesium deficiency at the same time. Too much calcium blocks magnesium uptake, thus treating only with magnesium (Epson salts) works. Most fertilizers ARE salts my friend, so before you dog someone's advice, you should do your research. And if you don't feed after flushing, you're going to end up with a nitrogen deficiency instead.
